10/10 Excellent

"The location to the beach was perfect, literally metres away with a full service bar and loungers and umbrellas that were stupendous. The room itself was super clean. Staff were so helpful and they’ll let you use the facilities even if you check out at noon for the rest of the day. The rooftop pool and lounge area with Jacuzzi have stunning views of the harbour and all of the massive yachts. Don’t go anywhere else. Just go here and be happy."

Hotel Italia e Lido Rapallo

10/10 Excellent

"Nice place, very convenient. A five minute walk to the train station and a nearby convenience store. In front of the sea. Overall would definitely stay again if I visit Rapallo again. Only downside, if you have problems walking, elevator is really small. It really only fits one person at the time with their luggage. I don’t mind using the stairs, actually prefer it, so it didn’t affect me at all. Also, for my fellow Americans who are always banging on about the air conditioning abroad the one in this hotel works really well."

Hotel Piccolo Portofino

8/10 Good

"Good hotel in a great location with a private beach club that overlooks the public beach in Portofino. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good. The building and facilities were older, but that seems to come with Portofino. There was an issue with the room safe that the staff fixed, although the television in the room continued to freeze and did not appear to be fixable. Overall we had a good experience and would recommend the hotel on the understanding that the price reflects that fact that everything is more expensive than normal in Portofino."

"The hotel is full of character and charm. Staff are extremely helpful and the facilities were amazing. My only disappointment was that I booked a single room. It wasn’t particularly clear from the package and pictures of fabulous character filled rooms that the single rooms are exactly that. A room with a double bed, not a lot of room and an en-suite with shower no bath in the single rooms. Just a heads up for other solo travellers, the single rooms are small. I had a great stay in a lovely hotel with lovely staff. I would thoroughly recommend"
