“Elegant and convenient”
This hotel has an elegant style and luxury amenities in an old building. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is unbeatable. In the Mala strana area, this hotel is only a block from the entrance to the castle and within 15 min walking distance from the St. Charles bridge and the old and new towns; the walk uphill on Nerudova street is refreshing but not exhausting. The views from the nearby park, lookout tower and funicular railway are breathtaking. There are lots of small restaurants and pubs in the area. Staying at this hotel made it relaxing and easy to enjoy many of the pleasures of Prague. We would highly recommend this hotel.
“Close to the castle”
Hotel Neruda was a great place to stay so long as they don't stick you with the windowless rooms in the centre of the hotel... very claustrophobic. The hotel is steps from the Prague Castle and St. Vitus's, only a 10 minute walk to the Charles bridge and a 20 minute walk to the Old Town Square. Perfect location if you're looking to stroll throught the picturesque streets of Prague. The hotel breakfast was excellent every day and different every day which was very nice. We did eat in the hotel for dinner as well and the food was also very good, we especially liked their sandwiches which took traditional Czech dishes and turned them into up market Paninis. All in all a great stay once you have windows to look out.
“Would definately go back”
The hotel was exactly as we expected it to be. It was in a beautiful location right near Prague Castle. The hotel was also a short walk to the Charles River Bridge and all public transportation. The hotel has a beautiful design and the rooms were very unique. We would love to go back here once a year, especially during the month of December. This is now one of our most favorite places.
“A sensitive reconstruction of a historical building - 1348”
The Hotel is located at the top of the historical Royal passage to the Castle. During the day you are overwhelmed with tourists similar to the Old Town but the evenings are quiet. We had spent (5) peaceful and memorable nights in a Superior Room #102, which overlooked the historical Neruda Street. The minimal extra charge for a Superior Room is highly recommended since you are in the recently expanded section of the Hotel and the rooms are larger, brighter and cleaner. The room was fairly large considering European standards but the washroom concept was remarkable since it was completely enclosed with glass. This is definitely a romantic room to share with your partner; not your best friend ! The Hotel Staff were pleasant, but not overly welcoming. We would have preferred a more generous hospitable staff considering that this is a 4 Star Hotel that prides themselves by being a comfortable and luxurious design hotel with a wide range of services offered on a superior level. The extensive buffet Breakfast was substantial, but was not always replenished and we had spent unnecessary time waiting for these items. This may have been due to the fact that the Hotel was fully booked and that this breakfast service was entirely managed by one person. The Hotel could have easily hired additional staff required for the summer peak season. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Neruda but would have preferred to be located in the livelier section of Prague, The Old Town.
“Great service!”
Positive: confortable beds and pillow, clean room, quiet street, very close to the castle, nice space in the room for two people, nice breakfast, fantastic staff at front desk and at breakfast (Monia from the front desk was really great with us and gave us fantastic tips about places to go and good/cheap restaurants) Negative: the hotel is near the castle but far from other touristic atractions. It's in the top of a hill and there's no public transportation (only taxi)so be ready to walk a lot and get in shape! There wasn't enough illumination in the room so we couldn't even see what was inside the wardrobe. Also the bath curtain was really small so everyday we had a little Everglades in our bathroom.
“20 Yards from Prague Castle”
Although the bed was not the comfiest I've ever had, it's hard to beat the location of this hotel (right around the corner from Prague Castle and the amazing St. Vitus Cathedral). The daytime receptionist is extremely helpful and speaks good English, and the breakfast buffet is quite tasty!
“Simple and friendly”
Lovely staff
“Funky”
Funky old buidling incorporating modern design. Very helpful and friendly staff. Our room didn't have a shower (only bath) which might put off some people - although the bath was cool and in the middle of the room!
“good value for money”
Very helpful staff, breakfast local style enough food, room 33 basic, bathroom ok and clean, room very basic may become warm in summer, location of hotel convenient for both castle/hill and town centre, good location
“Mixed feelings”
I have mixed feelings about the hotel. Location: hotel is located on quite and prestige street, but on a steep hill while all the tourist attractions are on the bottom. As a 23 year old, going up the hill each time I had to stop to catch a breath (p.s. I'm neither overweight or chubby). Most unsatisfied I was with the service. It is a private hotel, so if you don't like the room, or tv and hair dryer is not working, air conditioner makes sharp noise that even with earplugs you will hear---in those situations we heard "too bad" from customer service. Mind you later, they did replace the hairdryer and we had 3 channels on TV. The bigger issues with the air conditioner and the room remained unsolved, and we paid for the superior suite. It may well be that I am spoiled by Western standards of customer service, but to me those issues are unacceptable regardless of price. After so much walking in Prague, good night sleep is a must, and we did not have it, and hotel did not care. Other then poor service or the manner of response to inquiries, the hotel itself and location were extremely nice.
