“Excellent Hotel, but no AC”
The location is great and the hotel is beautiful. The staff was helpful and the rooms are great. But we got there during one of the rare times when Prague had a heatwave. There is no AC, so during the days the rooms were hot. Since we had to keep the windows open at night, we had all the noise of the street coming in the room. But other than that, we had no problems and neither should you if your travel is in the Spring, Fall, or Winter. If it is in the Summer, you probably will be OK, but keep in mind that if there is a heatwave, your room will be hot.
“Loved It!!”
From the minute we arrived we were greeted by friendly & helpful staff at the hotel. The hotel itself has a superb location and the rooms are lovely and clean. The breakfast is basic but fresh and they have a great little outside area where you can enjoy drinks and food in the warm weather.Overall this hotel is perfect for visting Prague and i will definatley be back!!
“Great value”
Since my husband had to go home to work, I booked a triple to stay with my parents. The room was actually a double with an extra bed brought in. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was very spacious, even with three of us. We loved the area up by the castle and had a beautiful view from the room. Breakfast was just ok, but was included in the price. We loved the character and location of the hotel.
“Excellent Hotel choice”
Very well maintained and friendly staff. Food is awsome can't complain about it. Excellent hotel location, woul recomment room 44 the best view you can get of Prauge from you hotel bed itself. English speaking friendly staff. NO regrets at all.
“Charming Little Hotel on the Hill”
The Hotel is located right next to the Prague Castle and is a charming little hotel. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. We were situated on the top floor and the interior of the hotel is very nice - designed like mini apartments/rooms in an outdoor setting. Wifi was free also and worked well. The hotel staff were all very nice and we found dining in the hotel restaurant a real treat. Great food selection and very friendly waiter who suggested the best local dishes. The hotel offers a great buffet breakfast also. The hotel is situated on top of a steep cobblestone street, so if you are eldery or do not like walking far then I suggest you stay closer to the old town square. The street does have a lot of cute little tourist stores & cafes etc. We were very pleased with our stay here, the rooms & staff and the safety of the area in which it is situated. Thumbs up !!!
“Good location and big rooms!”
The hotel was in a great location,in a quiet are. Just beside the castle and a 2 minute walk to the Charles bridge. The rooms were spacious with a nice bathroom. The breakfast was good. We would go back again!
“Great Value at a Great Location”
The location of this hotel could not be better. It is the first hotel you see when you come down from The Castle area. It is a bit of an uphill walk coming back from the Charles bridge or Town Square area, but it is so beautiful that it is worth it. The hotel itself has a great restaurant for lunch or dinner. The breakfast included is just average. The rooms are quite spacios compared to European standards and the bathrooms are good for a 3 star hotel. It is a bit noisy at night, but staying at any hotel in Prague would probably be the same since the rooms open to the street.
“Quaint Hotel near Prague Castle”
I liked this hotel - but there are a few things that one must know before booking it. It is near the base of Prague which has its own pros and cons. One pro is that you are near the castle complex, the Lareto and the Strohov monastery complex. The cons are that it can be a bit noisy at times, mostly in the morning as the tour groups start up and it does sit on the hillside, not near any of the public transit and no A/C. The neighborhood is very nice - it is touristy but not as busy as Old Town or other parts of Prague. The hotel itself isn't extraordinary but it does the job very well. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, breakfast (which was OK, but I'm a bit of a picky eater) was included as was wi-fi. The lack of A/C was a bit of a problem as it was fairly warm and humid during our time in Prague (early July) and opening the windows meant that you had to hope the little bit of foot traffic that went by was fairly quiet. Overall, it was a quaint little hotel that helped make our trip to Prague enjoyable.
“It's about Prague, not the hotel.”
Nice location. It's best to walk everywhere in the downtown area from here rather than mess with public transportation or private tour busses. Don't book this hotel if you love your high heals or need a walker, because you can't get there on foot without walking up and down hills via cobblestone streets. It's a typical European hotel with small rooms, tiny bathrooms, and a toy elevator, but the hotel is quaint, historic, clean and reasonably well located. You need to walk down the hill and across the Charles Bridge to the old town, but it's a nice walk that only hurts when you head back up the hill. The hotel is small so the staff is limited, but they are well trained and were quite nice to us. Hotel food is pretty good IMO and with a 20% discount for hotel guests is good value compared with the competition. The breakfast buffet is limited but includes hot foods such as eggs and meats and vegetables which are quite good, but fruit is limited. Parking--your screwed. It's costs 22 Euro a day and you only get a decal for your dash and still must find your own parking space. The nearest free parking is a quarter mile up the hill and it takes a GPS or a Sherpa to find your way back because of one way streets.. If you like quaint, European style hotels and small rooms you'll be fine. If you like fancy upscale international chains, you'll be disappointed. From here you have great access to everything in Prague worth seeing on foot. Bring the corn pads.
