We enjoyed our stay at Oceana Hostal Playero. The stafff was friendly, helpful and made our stay very pleasant and comfortable.

“Great Place”

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was a block from the beach and in a less congested or touristy area. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. There is not an elevator, but the staff carried my luggage for me. The food at the restaurant was delicious. It was easy to take the bus to Old San Juan. I would definitely stay here again.

“Great location...close to very nice beach”

Hotel staff was helpful to recommend places for entertainment. Parking is so so..Good access to Freeways..close to airport. Great value.

“AWESOME for the price!”

What can I say? The room was clean, cool, well maintained. Three minutes walking distance to the beach. The only thing lacking was the restaurant. The free continental breakfast was bizarre but okay (the coffee was great). Don't eat dinner there--expensive for what you get and there are so many better restaurants in Old San Juan. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget. :)

“Great Value”

I stayed here for 3 days in September 2008. I have to admit that the hotel does not look like much from the outside, but I was very impressed once I stepped inside. The room was clean and cute and had a minifridge for your use. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a low key place with great access to the beach and amenities. I spent most of my days in Old San Juan which is just a 15-20 minute bus ride away. If you would like a cab, the front desk can help you out with that and the cab was always there within 3-5 minutes. The beach is literally around the corner and it is all you need if you want to bask in the sun.

“WONDERFUL”

This hotel has received many bad reviews but regardless of what they nay Sayers think, this hotel is WONDERFUL. Yes, the pool is small, the breakfast is just toast, fruit, and juice but the Staff is REMARKABLE. You can always go and buy breakfast from anywhere but you CAN NOT buy a helpful Staff. We went there and didn't speak Spanish at all, the staff helped us find places and taught us Spanish phrases to help us assimilate with the natives. We got a free upgrade to one of the Villas and although it was a little dated, it was still phenomenal. To sum it up I'll just say...NO roaches. Location is great. Food is cheap. Staff is helpful.

“Exceptional service at a bargain price”

Oceana Playero has a great location, only one short block from a great, clean, safe beach. The hotel pool provides a quick dip and lounge chairs are nearby for relaxing. We stayed in a villa, which is a great idea for a longer stay. Although the room did have a full kitchen, the hotel restaurant prepares delicicous local dishes. We tried and recommend the beef skirt, and pork medallions entrees, both come with rice and beans and are extremely delicious! Staff members were always helpful and friendly. Lighted streets gave reassurance whether walking around during day or night. Bars/restaurants were close by, but the nice thing about Oceana is that all amenities are provided on the premises. It's nice to get out of the hotel and check out the neighborhood, but guests can find all they are looking for right there. We booked Oceana due to their bargain rates, but found a place we will definately revisit. It was a week stay, and we wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!!! We highly reccommend this hotel to all!

Awesome staff and great location. nightlife around here too upscale hit Viejo San Juan for true Latin Nightlife.

“very god value”

easy to find location, only about 4 miles from the airport, very close to the beach. the staff was helpful polite. parking on the side street. very good value for the money. remember the local tax rate is about 30%....if i go to P R again i will stay at Oceana. never had the chance to try the breakfast, but the room was comfortable. a little more basic than the best Western, but i belive better value.

“good value for the thrifty traveler”

the price was right on this one. Pack light or ask for a ground floor room while booking if stairs are trouble. The building is 3 stories tall. Good off street parking. Hotel staff for the most part were top notch. The beach was directly North of the hostel one block. very pituresque. Good food & cold beverages were a block away. local shopping another block or two. If fast food is your desire several chains have an outlet within a short walk. Easy access to freeways & airport. I would recommend this location to friends & family.
