“Best Vacation Ever!!!”
I stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort from 4/21/2012 through 4/26/2012. The staff was fantastic, and always willing to go the extra mile. The grounds of the complex, which included 5 resorts total, were maintained to the highest standard! The rooms were great and very spacious, and the in-room minibar was included in the price, and stocked daily! I have absolutely no complaints what so ever. The staff was extremely friendly, and always had a smile on their faces. I rate this resort as a 5 star hotel, and would rate it higher if I could. Do not hesitate to stay at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Adults only resort. You will enjoy it to the fullest and will not regret it! It is definitely worth the asking price. We are planning a trip for the entire family for next year, at the same resort!
“Bravoro Beach Getaway”
My stay at the Bravaro Beach resort was very relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel was very clean, and had a very nice appearance to it. On the other hand the food was not so enjoyable, but I did not have high expectations being that it was all inclusive. The staff was very nice but I found the language barrier to be difficult, I feel that the hotel should have more of an english speaking staff because very very few staff members understood english, they automatically assumed that you knew how to speak and understand Spanish. Overall the pros outweighed the cons the rooms were very nice, each room had a balcony the pools were beautiful, the hotel was right on Bravaro beach which was absolutely gorgeous. There were many beach activities such as aerobics and zumba every morning which was very entertaining andy fun. I would recommend this hotel to people that don't go on vacation for the food. This hotel is for people that want to relax on the beach in a beautiful atmosphere. There are also many excursions the hotel offers during your stay I highly recommend the day long trip to Saona Island, it is only 100 dollars per person and worth every penny, it is a full day trip that takes you to a beautiful private carribean Island. On the way back you take a catamaran that is full of entertainment. There are four resorts on the complex the Bravaro Beach is adults only which is amazing because it is so relaxing and quiet. You get the best of both worlds because you can use amenities of all
“Stay somewhere else”
The main issue with this resort is poor service and a general lack of caring. Finding a smile and accommodating service was difficult. Service: Much of the staff was lacking in any desire to be courteous or accommodating. The bar tenders bordered on hostile. The wait staff indifferent. There is no drink service to the beach or pool area and the bar would get backed up and the bartenders never ever made the same drink twice. All the guests joked that no matter what you ordered they gave you whatever they felt like making. You had to ask for liquor or they didn't put it in the drink. The frozen drink machines were not freezing anything but the pina coladas. Drinks were served in small plastic disposable cups. Room: Our Superior Room Oceanfront - Club Premium room was simple and sparse with dark wicker furnishings, nothing luxurious but adequate. We could hear everything in rooms above/next to us . We had to ask for towels every day as there was never a full set. Food: Buffets were lacking especially breakfast. When they ran out of orange juice they switched to something they call concentrate but we call Tang. Coffee comes from vending machines and all tastes like chocolate. Only (terrible) house wine and beer or champagne (drinkable) is offered in restaurants, We always had to ask for our wine several times before they would bring it, sometimes after our appetizer course was cleared.
