“Great experience in Quito!”
My son and I stayed at Hotel Dann Carlton before and after a trip to a jungle lodge. The hotel was great! Our room faced the Parque La Carolina and the mountains, so had a good view, and we enjoyed being able to run and stroll in the park. The fitness center was good, and breakfast each day had lots of options. Staff were helpful. We had no trouble getting transportation wherever we needed to go.
“very nice people, good service, very friendly, good breakfast, good location, good price”
It was nice to get a drive from the airport to the hotel, the driver waitet for me, friendly welcome, in the casino the drinks were free, good breakfast, fitnessclub, etc. staff helped with the tourist guide, etc. Quito and the hotel is very nice, the people work hard to make me happy!
“amazing value”
I have stayed in almost all the hotels in Quito and this hotel defenetily gives you the best value. Ask for a suite and they will give it to you for no extra charge most of the time.
“Wonderful Hotel”
The staff at the Dann Carlton was wonderful. They upgraded my room for my birthday and even surprised me with a lovely cake. Unfortunately my friend and I were very ill that day and the hotel was kind enough to call the doctor to take care of us on their dime. The hotel was nice and clean. We were very happy with our stay.
“Most Enjoyable Stay”
I found everyone to be extremely helpful and courteous.
“Efficient but reluctant.”
Staff was efficient and courteous but reluctant to let guests know what services are available, since I had to ask at reception desk if they had gym, sauna, etc. Who knew what else was available? When you check in, you will have an imprint taken of a credit card. When you leave any charges will be done electronically, so it is IMPORTANT to get back the slip on which the imprint was made.
“Pleasing, great location”
The heating system does not really work and turns automatically off after certain hour at nights.
“nice hotel, but front desk kind of rude!”
front desk people rude!! specially the girls. they told me that check in was from 2 up to 2:30 pm and I have two babes and they wouldn't hurry up, very frustrating if it says 2pm should be 2 pm not 2:30!!
“not impressed”
the size of the rooms are ok however the hotel was doing renovations and was extremely loud. Also there is a school right next door and you can clearly hear the loud speakers : (
“Solid hotel in a great part of town.”
I enjoyed this hotel immensely. It's in a great part of town for exploring the colonial city just down the lineon the ecovia (reticulated bus system) and it's in a nice neighborhood. There is alot of construction ongoing, I had problems napping during the day (I needed a power nap to keep going on my schedule). The staff is gracious and helpful and plentiful. I ordered room service often and enjoyed the food greatly. There is a fashionable gym, pool, whirlpool, steam room and sauna and no extra cost to hotel guests, complete with cycling classes, aerobics, yoga and a full gym, all on the top floor overlooking the mountains around the city. Lots of european and asian visitors, but not really in large groups. Suited me fine. Only issue for me is that Ecuador's down share the coffee-in-the morning culture and I am accustomed to. There is no coffee maker in your room, so you have to order room service, if just for coffee in the morning. Arghhh. But when ordered, and when arrived, it was very ample.
