“Staff went out of their way to help you, but were very laxed about it like that was part of the job”
friendly staff and good food. enjoyed the show on sat night. we will be back
“Lagoon at your doorstep...will definately do again”
Beach front deluxe rooms made our stay, thanks to the upgrade on arrival. Quiet rooms, air con, cleaned daily. Resort staff were very friendly and loved the local entertainment at Mal's bar.
“superb”
amazing. but spagetti house was disappointing
“Super value for the cost.”
The very friendly staff was so welcoming, and I loved my room and its cleanliness. Town was a short bus ride away, and snorkeling was available right off the Edgewater beach. The breakfast provided as part of the cost of the room was quite adequate, with lots of fresh fruit, as well as muffins, toast, and cereal. There was always someone at the activities desk to hand out swim fins or towels or reef shoes. Don't miss the music and dancing on the evenings that special show is presented. It's well worth the extra expense!
“Can't wait to go back”

“Everything in the one place”
The Edgewater made our stay in Rarotonga amazing. We were in a basic room, but it was well air conditioned and cleaned daily by a friendly caring cleaner. The buffet breakfast was a nice fresh way to start the day with amazing views into the lagoon! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The activities hut provided lots of cultural and non cultural activities to be involved in, which helped make the most of the stay on the island- the island night buffet dinner and show is a MUST. The food was well done for the availability and the prices of food in Rarotonga but overall had an amazing stay
“Perfect vacation spot and great hotel”
We chose Edgewater because it was the largest hotel, thus good facilities. We rented a car and went all over the island and found none better than our choice. Mom with 2 adult sons, we needed space so we reserved a villa. 3 separate bedrooms and 2 baths, washer and complete kitchen, stove and refrig. It was clean and neat, towel service daily. Room was not more than 1/3 block from beach. Generous continental breakfast included. The hotel pool was located in front of the restaurant and there was a cabana that provided free snorkeling equipment. I did not use fins, just water shoes and mask, walked directly out into the water a short distance and ducked down in 4' of water and saw 15 varieties of colorful tropical fish. Best snorkeling ever! The whales were migrating just off the reef and we watched them frolicking daily. One son even got a great photo of a whale jumping. We did 2 boats, one submarine (a boat where you could climb down a ladder and view underwater fish, the other a whale watching ($30 each) I cannot recommend this trip more highly. I am a world traveller and have been in 36 countries and all US states but Alaska. Rorotonga made me think how it must have been in Hawaii in the 40's. Not much tourism, mostly New Zealanders on holiday. Polynesian natives were friendly and accomodating. Makes me think THIS MAKES ME THINK HOW HAWAII MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE 40'S Evening meals may seem expensive, remember NZD vs USD is 75% Tax and tip included. Way to go, Expedia .
“Fun at Edgewater”
Had a great time staff were so friendly and helpful
“Edgewater Hotel RAR”
We stayed at the Edgewater for 19 nights. We were very pleased with everything. One has to keep in mind that Rarotonga is an island in the Pacific and the standards are not those of Hawaii, but given that, the Edgewater was excellent. About the only frustration was the satellite TV doesn't always work to the level one expects in a North American hotel and the limitations on internet usage could be trying at times. We used both Telecom and the Edgewater server and they were both the same so we expect it's a problem with the satellite based system rather than anything to do with the hotel. The room was clean, the bed was excellent, the hot water was plentiful and the air conditioning cooled the room at night for an enjoyable sleep. The view from the balcony was exceptional. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The complimentary breakfast was great - fresh local fruit, muffins, toast, cereal, juices. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The island bus service stops right at the front door. A great place for a relaxing vacation.
“Very pleasing experience at Edgewater”
Pleasantly surprised with quality and site of hotel. We visited others during our stay for comparison and found the Edgewater to be easily the best laid out in terms of proximity of pool, dining facilities and beach. For us the menu had the best range of options (catering for vegetarians as well; i.e. more than one option) and reasonable prices. Excellent views from very clean room (ocean view). Will definitely return.
