“Very Satisfactory”

This hotel fully met our expectations. It was fairly simple but perfectly adequate in all respects. It was clean and comfortable and just a short walk from the centre of St Malo.

“Very happy with our stay.”

We stayed one night in St Malo and the Mecure hotel was just what we needed after a very rough sea crossing from Portsmouth. We arrived tired and grubby and left feeling rested, revived and ready for our trip to Mont St Michel the next day. The hotel is peaceful and spotlessley clean. The whole room, and especially the bathroom, seemed to be newly refurbihsed and very comfortable with everything we needed for a one night stay. I am a light sleeper but I had an undisbturbed night's sleep followed by a very good continental breakfast for 8 euros (excellent value for money). The hotel is located on the seafront with plenty of free parking in nearby streets (bearing in mind we stayed in April, I can imagine parking in summer months may not be quite so easily available). The sandy beach and emerald sea are beautiful and the location of the hotel its great for people like us who love to take long walks along the beach. The historic city is about a 10 mins walk away and well worth a visit with its ramparts, winding streets and huge choice of restaurants and shops. The staff at the Mecure were very friendly, helpful and happy to speak in English. For a comfortable stay in a modern hotel I would highly recommend the Mecure.

“Nice hotel, shame about the noise”

Nice hotel, on the sea front. Just 5 minutes walk to the old town. BUT we were given a room on the ground floor which opened onto the street. People were walking past the window and talking and making a noise all night. We got little sleep. Also, the parking situation was poor. Yes, there is lots of on street parking but at certain times of the day it was impossible to park. Wouldn't stay there again.
