“Basic but delightful”
My wife and I have stayed in hotels from very basic to plush. The Centerhotel Klopp was basic in some ways (room and bathroom on the small side), but the location, cleanliness of rooms and public areas, helpfulness of staff, complimentary breakfast, and good price far outweighed the downsides. We had a great time in Reykjavik, and the Centerhotel Klopp served us very well.
“Ideal situation”
Away from the noise that can apparently be a problem in the city centre, we were only 5 minutes' walk from the main square and close to lots of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was very good, tea and coffee available all day, and staff were very helpful. Room was a good size and had two chairs so we could both sit in comfort.
“Definitely a good find”
I was very happy with the hotel in general. It gets the highest marks for its location, cleanliness, subtle and very modern design of the room and the price.

Can't fault the hotel. Location is close to the main street, shops and resturants, breakfast was plentiful and rooms were clean and cosy. I want to go back already! :)
“Not fancy, but adequate”
Well located, desk staff extremelly helpful, the rooms were clean and maintainted, but no little extras like shampoo, hand lotion etc.

“Would definitely stay there again”
The hotel was very conveniently located round the corner from Laugavegur, where many of the shops, cafes, restaurants and bars are found. It was also just a short walk to the harbour and Tjornin areas. Our room was located on the top floor at the back of the building, and had partial views of the sea and mountains. Though a bit small, I've stayed in smaller before, and it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hot shower was fantastic! Other reviews mention noise on the weekends, but we were hardly disturbed at all, this was probably because the bar along the road (Sirkus)had closed. The complimentary breakfast buffet was served 7-10am, and consisted of bread & rolls, jam, cold cheese and meat, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, juices, pastries etc, which were continually refreshed by attentive staff. water, teas and the coffee machine in the lobby was available around the clock, and the guest computer was handy for checking emails and weather forecasts. The staff on reception were friendly and very helpful. All in all we were 100% satisfied with the hotel, and would certainly stay there again if we return to Reykjavik.
“Great location, breakfast, and room.”
We loved the bedding. The front desk provided an ethernet cable for internet in our room. Everything was very clean and nice. I believe it's a very new hotel. The breakfast room has amazing views looking out over the harbor, and it was a great place to enjoy a drink in the evening too. There is a rooftop deck also accessible from the breakfast room/bar. My only criticisms, which would absolutely not keep me from staying again, is that the room and the breakfast room had some traffic flow issues resulting in people running into each other.

Great hotel. Great location. Good value. The room's aren't huge but who cares? You should be out and about enjoying Reykjavik!
“Delighted with the hotel”
With a prior knowledge of how expensive the city is, I wasn't expecting much for my money, but was pleasantely surprised. The location is ideal, 5 min walk to the main shopping street, the hotel has all the amenities that you might need (including a much appreciated cup of tea when you first come in from the cold) and the staff is really helpful. The rooms are a bit on the small side but confortable, and the continental breakfast, although not offering a great variety, was always well stocked. Both the day and night receptionists were very friendly and helpful, helping us choose restaurants and tour to do. Basically, great value for your money, with two big pluses: location and great staff. I'd definetely return to the same hotel.
