“Great hotel”
Great hotel, clean and good location in the centre of town next to good restaurants.
“Among the best choices in Rekjavik!”
Very friendly, helpful staff at the front desk around the clock. Everyone speaks English very well. Everything happens just as it is explained. We took a trip in January so things were slow and we were given a free upgrade to a junior suite. If you have never traveled outside the US you may be put off by the smaller size of hotel rooms and that any bed size larger than a full mattress is almost always made up by strapping two mattresses together thus leaving a slight crack in the middle. There are lots of little differences like that to found so when I rate this hotel high I'm not taking those sorts of things into consideration. Let's put it this way, having stayed in multiple hotels in Iceland and Scandinavia, this is among the most comfortable ones with ample ammenities (again relative to what there is to pick from in Rekjavik. AND this one is right in the middle of town. Could not have found a more central location.
“Perfect Locate and Very Friendly Staff”
The location of the hotel is perfect for dining out in the evening or the starting point for seeing Rekyajvik. The staff were very friendly and always helpful.
“Easter Break”
This hotel has the best location with loads of restaurants within a very short walk and lots of other sights nearby. Viking settlement excavation in basement was very informative. Hotel has a great look from sympathetic restoration and connection of three old houses. Food in the restaurant was really high quality and beautifully served, bar very stylish and comfortable.
“A really friendly and comfortable hotel, right in the centre of Reykjavik”
This hotel is located in the very centre of Reykjavik and is no more than a 15 minute walk from all the central visitor sites. It is modern and very comfortable. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, advising us on where best to go etc. we will stay there again when we return to Reykjavik!!
“Short but Sweet”
Picked this hotel based on reviews from Trip Advisor, and everyone on there was correct! Nice hotel in central Reykjavik. Due to our delayed plane from London we didn't arrive till 2:30 am and had to leave early. WIsh we could've stayed longer. Great room, very clean, a little on the small side but loved it! Hope to journey back to Hotel Reykjavik Centrum one day!
“Very nice place with a great location”
The hotel was very modern with clean neat facilities. And the location could not be better. Excellent breakfast too.
“Convenience in One Great Package”
Everything downtown is within walking distance. Available also is pickup and dropoff for all the tours and also when going to and from the Keflavik airport. Breakfast is available for a price and computers are also downstairs for free internet connection. The staff was very helpful and friendly at all times.
“Centrum Couldn't Have Been Better”
I researched several hotels in Reykjavik and booked the Centrum based on rate, location and visitor reviews. We couldn't have been happier. It's located on the picturesque square just a few steps from Parliament and Reykjavik's main shopping street, Laugavegur. I was a little concerned about the size of the room from some of the reviews I read before we arrived, but it was fine and was actually bigger than some other European hotel rooms I've stayed in. It has a nice bar area which also serves food. We ate there a couple of times and were very happy with the food as well as the atmosphere. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful; they arranged our Golden Circle tour and the Flybus back to the airport. We loved Iceland and we're already planning to return; we'll definitely stay at the Centrum again; I can't imagine staying anywhere else!
“Beautiful hotel, beautiful city”
We stayed in Reykjavik for four nights and had a delightful stay at the Centrum. If I were to try hard to find fault: I was irked by having to pay £10 per day for wifi access. The access was smooth and problem-free, however. We had paid for a deluxe room and loved the space we had, particularly since we seemed to have a 20 foot turret in one corner. Just a shower but a very efficient one and there’s endless hot water there, of course. The building itself is quite starkly beautiful and incredibly central. We had a grand top floor view over Austurvöllur, with the Settlement Exhibition right underneath us. We stayed Sunday to Thursday, so I don’t know whether there would be much disturbance from the all night partying in that quieter part of town. As it was, we slept with our window ajar. We bought odds and ends from a couple of local supermarkets and nobody seemed to mind that we filled the minibar with several varieties of skyr every day. We had breakfast in the hotel one morning before a trip out of town and that was expensive but there was ample choice from the buffet. We didn’t eat there in the evening but there were several fine restaurants nearby. Everything in Reykjavik is expensive, apart from hot running water and their geothermal power, but we had anticipated that. We seldom used cash since the Icelanders seem to prefer plastic for even the smallest transactions and don’t expect tips. We’ve traveled a lot over the years and seldom enjoyed a short trip so much.
