“Simply an excellent hotel in all aspects”
It is truly a great hotel for the value, cleaniness and location. It provides free shuttle service to within 2 miles of everything, including return from your outting, so what's not to love?
“Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown”
We knew nothing about Richmond but wanted to visit over Thanksgiving. We found this hotel on Expedia. This hotel is in downtown Richmond which is, like a lot of city centers, a bit dead. But the hotel is great. It's in a former department store building. Our room was huge and spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant resources are a bit limited but still trying their best. I would recommend this hotel.
“Great Deal in Richmond, VA”
I booked this hotel for my parents on Mother's Day. The hotel and the room provided was absolutely beautiful, as well as spacious. The room rate was affordable and the staff was very courteous. My parents enjoyed their stay here more than they did at the Marriott which was located directly across the street!
“In the center of everything!”
Very friendly staff, who did not charge us extra for having to clean up some cups and bottles from our ruckus night before. Easy to walk to the National, and a decent sports bar place attached to the hotel across the street.
“Looking for the Hilton Garden Inn in other cities”
Our stay at this hotel was nothing but wonderful,the staff was friendly and informative,the room was nice ,clean and comfortable,we especially liked the history of the building,if we ever go through Downtown Richmond this is the only place we'll stay and will also recommend to our friends
“Hilton Garden Inn”
This was our second stay at the hotel. Location is great for events being held at the collisium ( Disney on Ice). Hotel provides shuttle service within a 2 mile radius. Hotel is contained in a building that foremely was a department store. The rate obtained thru Expedia was very reasonable.
“Very Nice Hotel!”
This was a really nice hotel, stayed there for my graduation and I was impressed. Nice bar, pool, and room! Valet parking is cool but the price is a little high, but it worth the money to not have to ride around looking for parking. Overall I had a great time and would stay there again.
“A great hotel with excellent staff.”
We stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were large and very comfortable and the whole hotel was newly renovated and immaculate throughout. What particularly stood out was the superb attitude of the staff who were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. The only downside is the location, situated as it is in an area which is a bitty tatty and is in the process of being redeveloped. However, do not let this put you off. The hotel runs a free shuttle to and from pretty much anywhere in the local area, and the restaurants of Shockoe Slip are only 5 mins drive or 20 mins walk away. All in all, a great hotel in an area which is really on the up.
“wonderful surprise”
I picked this hotel because I had few choices coming to Richmond for a marathon. It is very convenient to the convention center and the new performing arts center but a bit of hike to the main downtown/river area. The streets are deserted at night. That aside, the hotel and the staff were amazing. I felt like I was in a four star hotel once I got into my room. Very nicely appointed -- hotel restaurant was good, not fabulous, but better than average. What really sold me was the staff -- very friendly, very helpful -- one waitress drew out a map for me to find a particular place I was looking for. I would highly recommend this hotel.
“Richmond Stay”
Was very pleased with my hotel room, valet service and the service at the front desk. It was a very short stay and did not need to interact with many of the service staff. I do, however, want to suggest a better method for seating arrangements for breakfast. If you seat someone, make a note of it and either put a sign up to say reserved or in use. The table we were first assigned was taken by another person when we got back from getting our breakfast and we saw it happen to another family also.
