“A real hidden jewel.”
hotel was great, Character Character Character! Fantastic restaurant with no holds barred the best hamburger I've had in years,plus, large portions. Service was great. Check out the fountain when you stay.
“Great Hotel”
Recommend this hotel if you are in hte Rockford/Southern Wisconsin area. Large size room, indoor pool, and a nice complimentary breakfast.

Very polite and helpful staff. Everybody said hi as you walked by. Rooms were sizeable and bed very comfortable.

“BEAUTIFUL BREATH TAKING AND BEST!”
Coming in from Michigan on a cold snowy blusttery night, for a 3night 4 day stay this hotel was not only courteous, beautiful and delicately decorated, but was also very close and conveniently located to shopping and other surrounding restauraunts. Rooms were immaculate with fridge/microwaves, the view was spectacular, beds very comfortable and the guest baskets in the bathroom were wonderful. A truly wonderful experience and we travel quite often. Highly recommend and when we come back to the Illinois area again - there is NO other Choice for us - except for Cliffbreakers. Lots to do, staff is the best - just cant say enough wonderful things! Great food/drinks. And I am a neat freak! Thank you for the warm hospitality and a wonderful hotel! BE PROUD - you deserve it! Thank you again! I also learned that this hotel has "themed type rooms". Although I never got to see one, as we came during the Christmas Holiday, I would love to check out one of those rooms as well. Having Breakfast with Santa Claus, made my nephew glow with delight. - Beautiful Breath taking! and the BEST! ***** A+ all the way!!!

VERY NICE OVERALL--GREAT BEDS-A LITTLE OUT OF THE MAIN TOWN BUT NICE FOR A PRIVATE GET AWAY. THE BREAKFAST WAS NOT SO GOOD BUT OVERALL I WOULD STAY AGAIN
“In Rockford, IL? Who knew?”
The manager Tahara was the best. Gave us a tour of the hotel and all the antiques. Amazing! Check out the special "theme" rooms with gorgeous antiques-Honeymoon room, Presidential Suite, and the amazing Sultan's Suite! Stay in that room! gorgeous views of nature on the Rock River out the window of your own private dining room. Rent bikes and ride along the river bike path. Eat at the Cliffbreakers, restaurant attached to hotel. Take the antiques tour. Visit Anderson Gardens, Rockford Art Museum, Burpee Museum, Swiss Tinker Cottage, Water world, lots of fun.

“Rockford's best - Cold pool but GREAT VIEW and WONDERFUL RIVERWALK”
Very nice, especially for the price. CLIFFBREAKERS IS GOING TO BE OUR NEW PLACE TO STAY IN ROCKFORD. We stay in Rockford every August to see Thomas the Tank Engine and after being completely grossed out at the Clock Tower other hotels in Rockford (most smell of smokers and pets) we finally have found a decent place to stay. Three of us stayed in the bi-level king suite and had a terrific view of river. Very quiet room - heard little to no outside noises. Took a nice walk across bridge. Staff let us view some of the other themed rooms and very helpful. The only minus - the pool was absolutely FREEZING but we have not stayed at any hotel in Rockford that has had clean or heated pools as advertised, so we weren't expecting to swim but were hoping... guess swimming is not meant to happen in Rockford. However, we will stay here again.
