“Perfect for exploring a wonderful city.”
Though originally a little confused as how to get in the huge front door (press the intercom buzzer!) once in and settled we found this hotel made for a comfortable and no hassle place to stay during our time in Rome. Rooms a good size and beds perfectly comfortable (Though the shower shower may be a little small for slightly larger people, but fine for us). All staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke relatively good English, some more so than others but this was a great help and made things a lot easier. Great central location - 10 mins walk to Termini, and 15-20 to the Colosseum/Roman Forum. Managed to walk to all of the main sites with the exception of the Vatican, so great for a sightseeing trip. Good continental breakfast with something for even the pickiest of us, and the building's old lift is something of an experience as well as handy for not having to carry baggage up 4 flights of stairs. Good value for money, definately reccommend, especially to couples exploring room and on a budget.
“small, lovely and friendly”
for a small hotel in a good location with a small intimate staff you can't go wrong. we loved every minute and would definatly go again. one tiny thing and this goes for the whole of rome not just the hotel is that there was no tourist information. take your own!
“Awesome value in central Rome”
Know what to expect out of Europe before you travel there for the first time. Compared to the U.S., accommodations are quite different. Bathrooms are small, shower stalls are narrow, beds can be small and uncomfortable. If you already expect these things, or have traveled to Europe and know what to expect, you will be perfectly happy at this hotel. Clarin is in a great location (10 min. walk to Colosseum), since I'm familiar navigating Roman streets I was able to locate the hotel easily (others have said it's poorly signed, but there is a black and white sign at the doorway of the building). The hotel is on the 2nd floor (3rd floor for us that count the ground floor as #1) and is only 21 rooms. The staff, all four of them, were fabulous. Do yourself and them a favor and know some Italian before you go - none of them speak fluent English, but most speak at least a little bit. Muhammad was a fabulous host, helping with breakfast every morning, would be back by the late afternoon, watched over the hotel all night, I swear he only took 4 hours off each day. He knows hardly any English, but a conversation in broken Italian was great fun. Room was made ready for us ASAP when we arrived early for check in and we could SMELL the cleanliness of our room once we got down the hall. Some rooms overlook the street, so be prepared for road noise, but in my book that's nothing to complain about. Loved our trip, were comfortable and happy, and will be back!
“fantastic location”
the hotel was brilliant, the staff were friendly and breakfast was ideal. the hotel staff organised are transfer back the airport at the end of our stay. it was in the perfect location- plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and we walked to the collussuem everyday just for a wander as it was only 10 minutes away, also trevi fountain and the pantheon are withing easy walking distance- we walked everywhere!!! would highly reccomend doing the "rome in one day tour" as the guides were fantastic and if you want to go to the vatican its probably the best way to do it, as it is a little out of the way from everything else
“2* Hotel, 5* Experience!”
This hotel is perfect for travellers who want to see Rome on a small budget. The hotel is located within walking distance of most major sites and is 5 minutes walk to the Termini station, so you can access all other sites that way. The hotel was basic but ideal, the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. It has to be said that the staff were the friendliest people we met in the city and were happy to help. All in all, it was a great experience and we definately recommend this hotel.
“Perfect Location”
We loved everything about it. Eventhough some people at the reception desk did not speak english, they always found a way to communicate with us and make our stay excellent.
“Very friendly hotel”
Awesome hotel for the money and very clean. The bathroom was a little small but it suited our needs. You don't go to Rome to stay in your room. THe staff was nice and helpful. THe breakfast was slim. Mainly rolls and cresants. We were very happy. They even held our luggage so we could go sightseeing before our room was ready. Big Plus!
“Excellent Location”
The Clarin hotel is basic, but clean, and the people are very friendly. It is in an excellent position - about 15 min walk to Colleseum, 5 mins from Metro. Would use this again for a short break.
“cheap hotel in good location”
i will back to this hotel, but if u have kids maybe its not sogood, the shower was to small even for me i'm 5'2',but location, location, location for not to much moneyeverythingelse was fine.If u want to visit rome, young and dont have too much money...this is the hotel for you
“Simple Accomodation, clean accomodation near the sites”
This Hotel is simple accomodation with all the basics which is ideal for siteseeing in rome when you will spend most of your time in the city and not in your room. But when you want to rest those legs it is a short walk from the Trevi Fountain and Railway Station.
