“Would return & recommend”
Hotel Bailey's is a quiet, comfortable, small hotel. It is away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas. The service was outstanding, We looked forward to breakfast. The nearby restaurants are affordable and very tasty. Rooms are elegantly decorated. We had a family room which was 2 connecting rooms with 2 bathrooms. It was perfect for our family of 5. We felt safe at the hotel and walked to the Spanish Steps, Borghese Gardens...We took the metro (Republica) to the Vatican, Trevi fountain, St John Lateran...We took the bus at other times. Bus/metro is extremely cheap & easy. Felt safer in Rome than in NYC or Phila. We found the residents of Rome to be warm, helpful and eager to help. Wait staff everywhere were especially kind to our children. The entire trip was a very positive experience. We would return to Hotel Baileys in a heartbeat,
“Classy hotel, near great food”
The decor is very nice, but the room was a little small. Breakfast was good, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. A blind in the room had to be fixed, but other than that our stay was great. Really good restaurants near the hotel, too. It would have been nice if the hotel were more central, though. We generally walked to the metro or the bus stop around the corner (have to buy bus passes at tobacco shops). The desk staff can also make reservations for tours for you, which was really nice.
“Rome's best for Location, Service & Price”
I can't say enough about this hotel. Great location - convenient to sites, great restaurants, within walking distance to train station and metro. Good Breakfast with American coffee. Good sized rooms with large beds, air, etc. Nice bar. The hotel staff could not have been nicer. We were referred by Hotel Bailey to a tour service, "Rudy's tours" and we went on 3 different excursions with them. would highly recommend them for an easy way to see all the sites. Our tour to the Tuscan Wine country was the best day - great scenery, great wine and the best food ever.
“Contributed to an outstanding trip!”
The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable, the hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and gracious, the location was within walking distance of a number of historically important sites, and the breakfast was plentiful. Overall, as a seasoned traveler, one of the better finds!
“Fantastic Hotel!”
What a great experience staying at this hotel. We arrived early in the morning (well before check-in), they stored our luggage, made us cappuccinos (for free!), gave us a map of Rome and showed us where the great places to visit were, reserved a time for us at the Villa Borghese gallery and they even upgraded us to a bigger room as we were staying for 6 nights. They truly treated us like welcome and valued guests. The breakfast buffett was a great way to start the day, scrambled eggs, cold meat, bread, cereals, fruit, pastries, juices and of course, espresso's and cappucinno's to top it all off. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious (for Europe) and very clean. There are two or three really great restaurants just down the street and a fantastic gelato place called Caruso's about a block or two away. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful at night (got great sleeps) and was easily within walking distance of the major attractions and the Termini station (we walked everywhere in Rome). I can't say enough about the friendliness and warmth of the staff at this hotel. They really take care of you. A++++++++
“Fantastic location - well recomended”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Bailey. The location was excellent for accessing all the major attractions and the railway station. There were also a good number of excellent restaurants near the hotel. Breakfast was a really good continental buffet with a good variety of cereal, pastries and cold meats. The staff were really helpful and more than happy to advise on places to go. The only issue was not being able to access the wifi in our room on the 6th floor. We were able to access it fine from the seating area in the hotel lobby which was more than adequate.
“best gelato in town”
The hotel was great, they comped us to a bigger room with a view over the street, which is better than nothing. The room was huge, the bathroom was cosy (small) but clean and the minibar prices for the beers was very good. Breakfast was interesting but if you ignor the bad coffee and the cheap cheeses it's wasn't that bad. one draw back is the distance from the city and the sites, but it's a beautiful place to walk everywhere. the best bit is that the greatest gelato shop is two minutes walk away, we went there every night after dinner, it's the best.
“Great beginning”
It was such a relief to find a hotel online that matched the good reviews. While a small hotel, it is very well maintained, on a quiet street (loved those cobblestones), and the breakfast that was included saves you money and time. We flew the red-eye into Rome and were so glad to be able to check in early, and get started on our day. The air conditioning was great, and the room was spacious. Unfortunately we did not have a view of the street, instead a dark inner court, so we never knew what time of day it was nor the weather. Our room had a little bar fridge so we were able to keep some drinks and food in there throughout our stay. The staff were great sources of information, and my husband and I loved being able to chat with them when we came back late in the evening. While the hotel is somewhat out of the way of the main action, it was very easy to use buses a block from the hotel. (The #492, while slow, is a great way to see everything, and takes you near most sights) Still it was easy to walk everywhere, though often uphill! We always felt safe walking back to the hotel at night. The area around the hotel seems to be filled with many high-end hotels, shops, and government buildings.
“A hidden gem with a great location”
The hotel was small, intimate and extremely quiet. Very close to everything, including the Bourgese Gardens, Spanish Steps, cafes, etc. Breakfast was quite satifying. The staff was excellent, and anticipated every need. As a woman traveling alone in Rome, it was safe and comfortable.
“Perfect stay!”
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Bailey's for a week in February, and couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. Good location on a quiet side street (within a 20 minute walk of major sights), a 3 minute walk to Republica Metro, and decent restaurants nearby. Our room included breakfast, which was plentiful, and a very useful way to fuel up before a day of walking, walking, walking. The room itself was lovely (ours faced the street, and was very quiet), and the staff were always helpful and very pleasant.
