“Really nice place”
We really liked this place. We were traveling with a baby and a 5 yr old. We had an apartment with 2 bedrooms and it was great. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful. Also the setting of the hotel (really b&b) can't be beat. Its in a little medieval burg right next to a castle.
“True Italian ambiance”
My daughter and I stayed "in the country" at this hotel and loved it! There was a slight problem with the plumbing but that was addressed immediately and resolved to our satisfaction. The country apartment was secluded, quiet and comfortable. Everything that we wanted and more! The owners are delightful and extremely helpful. You also MUST try the Cipriani Restaurante...true Italian cuisine and atmosphere.
“wonderful hotel in Rome”
This hotel is really nice and in an interesting area. i would recomend this hotel for someones last night or two in Rome since it is near the airport. the hotel restaurant is out standing also.
“Do not miss the opportunity to stay in a beautiful hotel with an even more amazing history.”
We have been to Europe 6 times in our 14 years of marriage and I have to say that this is one of the hotels we will not forget (in a positive way). The hotel is surrounded by history. The rooms are beautifully decorated with antique furniture and are surrounded by mini gardens. The staff were very welcoming and were happy to assist us in any way we required. The hotel is very close to the airport but you will not hear a plane or feel the thunder of one over head. You get the feeling that you are in the middle of the country when you are only 20 to 30 minutes away (drive) from downtown Rome. Give yourself a gift and stay at the hotel. Tourer the castle and the country ground, they are not to be missed!
“Great place to stay.”
Good idea staying outside of the city and it is so easy to get to the centre of Rome by the train system...and only 1 euroeach way. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
“lovely, charming place--but old (as expected for a medieval burg)”
the staff was very eager to accomodate our needs, and left us little souvenirs of the area. for italy, the room was spacious and we had a nice dining room/living room with a small fridge. the shower was cramped and tiny, but was obviously retrofitted to accomodate an ancient stone building. this was the perfect was to end a 3 week trip to italy, staying 15 minutes from the airport where we could drop off the rental car on the way home. we spent 2 nights there, had an afternoon to explore ostia antica, which is about as nice a pompeii but in more or a green park-like setting. we spent our last day exploring the etruscan tombs in cerveteri and drove over to Hadrian's villa near Tivoli which is also amazing. The hotel is hard to find, just look for the castle tower in Ostia antica and walk into the narrow entry to the walled medieval plaza. the #18 is covered with the shutter for the door, but if your're standing in the small plaza (piazza) facing the tower entrance, the hotel entry desk is in the building to your right.
“Great Hotel and Great Price”
This Hotel is ca. 20 Min. from Venice but it is worth it. Great Room, good service and free Parking. The Hotel Restaurant is not that good so make sure to ask the Bartender for a great Restaurant very close. You will not regret it :-)
“Can't wait to return....”
We did not stay in the main part of this lovely old hotel, but rather a room in the Country-Side ( by choice.) We were "escorted" there by a gentleman from the hotel, but prior to our going - we were provided with a basket of breakfast items that we could take to our room. So nice since were were leaving early in the morning prior to breakfast. The old farm house and accomodations were Wonderful,. The room was much larger than I expected, comfortable and clean. Horses, chickens, gardening on the grounds. A short walk to a restaurant where we had the BEST meal in all of Italy!! The Chef was the host, waiter, and of course cook.....What a Wonderful first nite in Italy!!! I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend it highly.
“Wished we'd had longer”
This was only an overnight stop before going to the airport and I wish we'd had longer. The hotel exterior, interior and location are all "very different and quirky". The staff are friendly and helpful. There are a number of nice little restaurants nearby and Ostia Antica seems to be full of history - definately worth a visit in its own right.
“We highly recommend this hotel”
Full of character, very welcoming and helpful with all our questions.

Area:
Ostia - Pomezia, Italy: Lying 31 kilometres southwest of Rome, Lido di Ostia this is Romes seafront. Most of the busy beach is privatised, so there is a surcharge for use and loungers and parasols. The jewel of the area is nearby Ostia Antica. The architectural site gives a fascinating insight into the everyday life of sailors, merchants and slaves dating to the fourth century B.C. It later became Ancient Romes port for 600 years.
