“Ideal position”
Everything about this hotel was excellent including it's position. Absolutely ideal for sightseeing, being in the centre of the old city. Breakfast was generous and delicious. We had a super meal in the restuarant one night with friendly and efficient service. The room far exceeded our expectations being very large, only niggle was it had a veiw of a wall. However this wasn't really a problem. We faxed them beforehand to request a non smoking room which we got. So can't praise it enough and we would definitely use it again
“Great Location, friendly staff, beautiful rooms”
Great location in old town, all tourist locations right at your door. Very friendly english speaking staff. Room was very nice, no view but location more than makes up for that. Highly recommended
“I just recommended Hotel Elefant to my best friend”
Hotel Elefant is an excellent place to stay in Salzburg. From the location, to the room comforts, the service, etc., you can't beat it. Iris, at the front desk could not have been more helpful. It is an excellent value. If I have the opportunity to visit Salzburg again, I know where I'll be staying.
“Hotel Elefant, Salzburg”
Hotel Elefant is located in the heart of the pedestrian zone in Salzburg, with a very attentive and helpful staff. Nicely appointed room, with down comforter on bed, and a sparkling clean, thoroughly modern bathroom. Good restaurant in the hotel, and many other nice restaurants all within easy walking distance.
“Fantastic hotel, perfect location!”
My Mum and I spent 3 nights at Hotel Elefant. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. The room was lovely (if a little small - but then we hardly spent any time there anyway!) and very clean. Breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent. Above all, this hotel is in the ideal location. Great value for money with a deal on Expedia. Highly recommended!
“A lovely place to stay in the heart of Salzburg”
The location of this hotel is amazing: it's bang in the middle of the Aldstadt (Old Town) meaning you're less than a minute from Mozart's birth-house, the cathedral, the Christmas markets (if you go in winter, as we did), the shops, the funicular to the castle, the river... everything basically. It's also way better than any other Best Western I've ever been to, great staff, good breakfast, and extremely comfortable. Plus the 'elephant' theme runs throughout the hotel, which is really charming. Only thing I'd say is that I'd have loved to have slightly plumper pillows, and a bath rather than a shower. But that's really just quibbling. It was a fantastic place to stay in a gorgeous city, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone.
“Fantastic Location, Fantastic stay, not a bad word to say”
We stayed at the Elefant for 2 nights in December, the location is excellent especially if you are in Salzburg to visit the Christmas Markets or Old Town as it is literally right on the doorstep. It’s about a 10/15 minute walk along the river to Mirabell gardens and the new town, about a 30 minute walk to the central train station – but well worth the walk to stay here, the old town area is much nicer than that around the train station. The reception staff at the Elefant speak very good English and are very helpful if you need any information on the local area. We stayed in a king room which was much bigger than we expected it to be, the room and bathroom were both very clean, comfortable and very very warm considering it was around minus 8 outside – air con was also very good. There was an in-room safe and the free wifi was very good. The buffet breakfast was again very good and included cereals, juices, cold meats, croissants, hot bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs & much more. In summary the Hotel Elefant was a great hotel in an ideal location and there is nothing bad we can say about it - would definitely stay here again and we highly recommend it.
“Excellant location, very friendly checkin staff”
The whole trip to Salzburg was booked on Expedia, it was very easy to do and website easy to use. The hotel was clean and cosy, it did not have a bar, but you could order in the resturant and it was brought to the lounge area. The hotel was very centrally located with all local attractions within easy walking distance. The hotel checkin staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, they were very polite and spoke excellant English.
“This hotel is attractive, very comfortable and relaxing and conveniently located.”
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Our room was very comfortable as well as attractive and the hotel interior is also very good looking. Excellent location in the heart of the "Alt Stadt." The breakfast offered many choices in the European style plus some American choices. The staff was extremely helpful answering our questions and giving us good direction. I will recommend this hotel. Also enjoyed a lovely dinner in the hotel dining room our first night in Salzburg.
“Felt like home from home”
On arriving at the hotel we were greeted at the reception who gave us information regarding trips around the city. We had already booked trips, so she looked at the reservations and told us we could be picked up at the hotel and promptly arranged this for us. Everything about the hotel was good, the staff were very friendly and the hotel is very clean. The breakfast was better than I had expected and the meal in the restaurant at night was extremely good as well. I can only say that if I return to Salzburg I would not want to go into another hotel, I would stay at the Hotel Elefant.
