“A VERY nice no-frills hotel...we'll stay with them again, next time we cruise!”
I cannot over emphasize how impressed we were with the fun, helpful and friendly front desk folks...An example: We asked for a map of nearby Balboa Park. After helping us look through the extensive brochure rack, she offered to "Google" and print one for us. Later, we asked about restrauants within walking distance, we were told of a number of places and the types of faire they offered. The room, super clean and comfy, had a micro-wave, mini-fridge and "kitchen counter/sink". Even though directly under the landing approach to very busy San Diego International, the room was pretty darned quiet...we slept well in the comfortable beds. Our only "less-than-positive" experience was at check-out time, a very under-motivated clerk didn't seem to be at all concerned that she'd sent away the cab the hotel had ordered for us. During the half hour it took to convince her she needed to re-call a cab for us, I watched her ignore another guest while she shuffled papers. The good news is, I got the impression that she might have just been filling in on the desk for a clerk on break...In any event, her actions WOULD NOT prevent us from going back. Comparing her to the actions and attitudes of ALL the other staff-members, we're betting her career with the Inn will be short and she'll be gone by our next visit. WE WILL come back and encourage all who want affordable, clean, comfortable accommodations with no need for spa, bar, or chocolates on your pillow to give 'em a try!

“Clean and convenient base for visiting San Diego”
This was a great place to stay as a base for San Diego visits - room was tidy and clean and bed was comfortable. If all you need is a comfortable place to rest your head (and don't intend to sleep in, probably difficult under the airport flight path), this place is it. The breakfast, when they ran out of bagels, was very sweet - packaged cookies and muffins, but the filter coffee maker in the room was a real plus. The hotel is a 15-25 minute downhill walk to the Gaslamp and city centre, and just a few minutes on the regular buses that run down 4th avenue. The area is very quiet during both day and night, may be a little unnerving if you are walking alone, but seemed safe. Cable flatscreen TV in the room was also a bonus!

“Excellent Experience!”
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The only problem that some will run into, is, the parking. The staff was very helpful and professional. The first night we checked in, the front desk employee, offered his own parking spot. How cool is that! Excellent experience. The room was beautiful and very clean.
“Recommended”
Good rates, good continental bfast, clean hotel. My only negative was the I had requested a wake-up call, which I never received. Someone messed up, but luckily I'd never put that responsibility solely on the hotel, so I had an alarm to wake me up too. They did help me print my boarding pass and set up my shuttle to pick me up.
