“Good hotel”
Clean, bright and conveniently located near the Gaslamp district and downtown. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is cost conscious and interested in a clean hotel with friendly staff. Decor is colorful and a bit retro but I found it refreshing and inviting. Beds were comfortable and they had robes in the rooms.
“Great Place, Great Location”
Very nice place. Real close to great restruants in the gaslamp district and to a metro stop that can take you all over the city. Only downside was staff didn't seem to know alot about san diego, I wanted to know if a bus ran to the zoo and they had no clue. Becides that its a great place.
“Wonderful experience”
Stayed two nights and found it very nice. The king size bed was really comfortable, more so than our bed at home. My wife wanted to bring it home with us.
“Location!”
great location.
“great location”
Hotel staff was vry helpful and even gave me bus tokens
“Excellent location”
It is nice and cozy boutique hotel. Room was big enough with interesting decor colors, clean and quiet. But most of all I loved the location. it is located walking distance from Gaslamp quarter, historic center of San Diego where you can find many restaurants and bars. Shopping mall is 5 min walk from hotel as well. Even it is not far from ferry station. From there you can go and explore Coronado island.
“I'll go back again”
Stayed at the Bristol a few years ago and was very happy to return. Great location near the Gaslamp where I like to spend a majority of my time when I visit the San Diego area. Very reasonable room rates for the area. The hotel is very conmfortable, kept in fine condition with a very friendly, courteous and helpful staff.
“Exceeded expectations by far”
Before booking the Bristol, I read most of the reviews from other travelers, and while impressed with what most had to say, I still had concerns about the bus depot across the street. I am pleased to report that was not an issue at all. I was hardly aware of it's proximity, nor did I notice vagrants or other undesirable types in the vicinity. I encountered more of that type activity in the Gaslamp District. The hotel lobby is sleek; tastefully designed and decorated. It gave one a feeling of understated luxury, but very inviting when you needed a few moments to relax or wait on another guest to finish a session on the complimentary computer located there. The room was equally as tasteful as the lobby with comfortable beds and furnishings. I was not crazy about the louvred door to the bathroom which did not provide total privacy, but this would not keep me from returning. We experienced noise from the hall on our first night, which went unreported until the next morning. The desk was very apologetic and asked that if it happened again, to please call immediately and security would take care of it. Initially concerned about street noise, I had requested a quiet room and the staff eagerly complied with a room away from the street. The Bristol had a surprisingly good restaurant; dinner and breakfast were both excellent. I look forward to my next trip to San Diego, especially since finding this hotel.
“Great stay”
I've stayed at the Bristol Hotel previously, and it's the first place I look to when go back. Easy access to and from the freeway's, comfy bedding, updated furniture and design, at a great price. It doesn't get any better than that. The only knock- is that I wish the bathroom had a little more privacy.
“Good Value”
I had a great room and the hotel is well located to the Gas Lamp District and the Convention Center. The service was excellent too. BUT, here's my warning, the 8th floor is the only floor that has been renovated so far. That is just over 10% of the hotel. From what I heard though from my colleagues, the rest of the floors were not bad though.
