“Clean and comfortable with good service.”
Staff was very friendly. Complimentary bottled water and coffee/tea in office at all times. Free wi-fi. Continental breakfast was pretty blah. Room was totally adequate, clean and comfortable... nothing extravagant but a great value. I would definitely recommend this inn to those wishing to stay on Coronado Island but keep both arms and legs.
“I will stay there again loved it”
Very nice little place worth every penny. Some folks on here had some not so nice things to say but come on for the location and the Price you can't beat it.
“Give yourself a treat!”
I had an awesome experience at this hotel. The staff were absolutely stellar- Lori and Erin are the nicest, friendliest, most genuine people working in reception I have EVER met. And, I've travelled the world and stayed in a lot of places. The room- the bed was enormous, there's a TV, Fridge, Microwave. The shower was superb. Everything in my room worked and the room was spotless. Perhaps my eye-sight isn't great but there were no flaws, no cracks in the shower, the shower was spotless, I enjoyed myself here. The fact that coffee, snacks etc are on tap all day is wonderful. You can drink as much water as you want, as much coffee as you want, you could eat as many apples, bananas, oranges, snack bars, pastries, pretzels etc as you want. Where else do you get that? I stayed here last minute- I've stayed at the Del 3 years running and I found this hotel to be not only cheaper but the genuine staff meant that I feel the service I got here is BETTER that what I paid for to stay at the Del. You're 2 blocks from the ferry into the city. You're about 4-6 blocks from the beach. There's a market in one direction and Vons, Rite-aid etc in the other. You could buy food to eat in to save or make use of the variety of restuarants on Coronado. Life is precious, your money is precious, stay here- get wonderful service and save yourself some cash while you're being treated like an individual guest and not another human robot to smile fake-ly at. I love this place. I will be back.
“Great Hotel for a great price”
I couldnt be happier with the Coronado Inn. Coronado Island is a beautiful place and it was great to be able to find an affordable hotel on the island. The room was clean and large and the workers were friendly. The had free wireless internet, continental breakfast and snacks all day. The only "drawbacks" I saw were the continental breakfast could have been a little better, but for free I think it was good enough. The wireless internet was a little slow, but again that was free. The parking spaces were limited, which was not an issue while we were there, but I can see where that could be a problem in the busier season. And the shower was a little small. None of these things bothered me enough to not want to stay there again. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotels to others.
“Locally owned small hotel--well-located, very clean, excellent value”
This small hotel is described as locally owned. The room was very clean, the location is fabulous and it is an excellent value for the price. It is also dog-friendly. The desk people were very helpful and friendly. There were complimentary coffee and bottled water in both evening and morning as well as some breakfast bagels.
“Good little hotel; will stay again”
My husband and I found the Coronado Inn to be a throw back to the 50's or 60's. It was small but clean and very reasonably priced. It did have a microwave and refrigerator and a very comfortable king sized bed. There were a couple of cracked tiles in the shower and it had a window air conditioner that we liked because it made white noise so we could not hear any street traffic during the night. Parking at this Inn is at a premium and we did not want to move our car once we got a spot although there is parking on the street. It is located within walking distance, a little over a mile, from shops near the Del Coronado so we walked everywhere. The free breakfast could be improved somewhat but muffins and coffee are ample. If we go back to Coronado Island, we will definitely stay at the Coronado Inn again.
“Very economical and great location”
Nice little hotel. Great place to lay your head while sight seeing in Coronado & SanDiego. Fantastic location to restaurants, beach and access to downtown San Diego
“You get what you pay for”
The Coronado Inn is priced right, especially for Coronado Island, but you do get what you pay for in this case. The good: the area is fantastic and the Inn is located well to enjoy the island; the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The get what you pay for: the bed sagged; the mattress and pillows were hard; there was rust in the bathroom, the old paint peeked through the hastily applied new coat; the TV was old and picture quality poor; the continental breakfast was pre-packaged pastries and doughnuts and instant coffee with powdered creamer; other hotel guests' comings and goings were exceptionally loud in the room, as were the maid's vacuums at 8AM. Overall, the Coronado Inn is no horror story, but it is what it is, and potential guests should go with eyes wide open. We stayed there because we planned our trip on short notice and other places in our price range were booked. Next time, I would plan further ahead and perhaps stay closer to the Hotel Del Coronado end of the island.
