“Superb Hotel”
I had read a couple of reviews about this hotel prior to the refurb so went with an open mind. All I can say is that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and we have stayed in a few.The room was made up everday, all towels exchanged and any issues or the re supply of the coffee stocks were dealt with at the front desk which was both friendly & curteous. The pool was a welcome escape from the heat and was well looked after and the firepit was a fantastic place to sit down, chill out and meet fellow holiday makers. The hotel was situated in the hotel circle and all areas of San Diego are close be even though you will need a car. All in all not a bad word to say of the Doubletree and would recommend to anyone visiting San Diego.
“Great Hotel for Families - Nice Amenities and Nearby Everything!”
Just got back from our family vacation to San Diego and really enjoyed the Doubletree Club Hotel! I'm a single father traveling with three kids - and this was the perfect place to stay. We had a family suite with two queen beds plus a separate room with bunks. It was plenty of space and the kids loved the play area with kids table and television with movies and games. Having a small refrigerator was a bonus, and there were plenty of cups, glasses, towels, and other necessities. The restaurant was good for breakfast - made it easy not to have to make multiples stops once we began the day, and we ordered room service a couple times for late night snacks after long days at the beach and various theme parks. The warm chocolate chip cookies were a welcome treat - and the front desk was kind enough to offer extras when I passed through the lobby with the kids from time to time. Having an enclosed parking terrace with gate was nice - knowing the car was covered and secure. The pool area was terrific for both little kids and big kids - plus the hot tub was big enough to accomodate two or three parties at a time. Mark is the general manager there and he makes sure his guests are well taken care of. I really appreciated the time he took to answer my questions as we planned our trip. Because of his service, everything was extremely easy and enjoyable. Thank you Mark! I would really like to return to the Doubletree Club Hotel in San Diego again sometime.
“Solitude or Action, it' all here!”
This is a very busy hotel, but if you wish to stay in the room, it is constructed well so you don't hear any noise. Each room has a small balcony, ours overlooked poolside. A USA Today paper every morning was nice. The staff was very friendly and everything was kept very clean. We used the workout room, it's kind of small, but efficient. On the morning of the last day, they slipped a final bill under the door without disturbing us and offered express checkout. The location is covient for a lot of things. Balboa Park and the beach are minutes away. There is a resturant in the hotel though if you don't want to leave or are on a time schedule.
“Would stay again”
Hotel elevators were under construction and the working elevators were slow. My biggest concern was the hotel food service, I ordered a pizza and it came with artichokes and other ingredients that I didn't order. My concern is that if someone would be alergic to these ingredients. Thank You.
“Cheap luxury.”
One of the nicest Hotels and best buys on Hotel Circle. Great comfortable bed. On site parking rates a little high and front desk staff a little young and inexperienced. But over all a great stay.
“great deal in San Diego”
I felt at home during our 6 night stay. The front desk was always friendly and helpful. The pool area was well kept...warm towels were always available. The location was as central as it gets for the touristy things that we had planned, right in the middle of Sea World and the zoo. Just a 5 minute drive to Old Town and the beaches were very close, plenty of restaurants and shopping to choose from in each direction. I would definitely stay here again with my family.
“Comfortable, quiet and clean”
I needed a quiet and clean place while still feeling safe. The Doubletree provided all that an more. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a good experience.
“All around a great place to stay 100%”
They have AMAZINGLY comfortable beds, we all slept like babies. That staff was very friendly and welcomed us with fresh baked cookies upon our arrival. GREAT staff! Will go back whenever I stay in San Diego
“Very nice hotel”
Very much enjoyed this hotel from start to finish. I'd go back and would highly recommend it. Nice facilities, friendly staff.
“Will Definitely Go Back Again!”
1st time in San Diego & had a wonderful time. Great hotel, great location. Clean, nice size rooms with comfortable beds & balcony overlooking pool area. Close to 2 highways, malls, the airport. ~10 minutes from downtown, Gaslamp Disctrict. Very convenient location. And delicious, fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies.
