Property Amenities
Centrally located in San Diego's Mission Valley, the family-owned and managed Handlery Hotel is just minutes away from Sea World, the famous San Diego Zoo, Old Town, museums, shopping, and miles of breathtaking beaches. The hotel is known for its convenient location, comfortable accommodations and outstanding service.
Our guest rooms are made up of one king or two double beds, wireless Internet access, refrigerator, 37” flat screen TV with 40 channels, ergonomic desk chair, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea. Our upgraded rooms feature an intimate balcony or patio, some overlooking the pool.
The hotel features an oversized outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, poolside fitness room and room service through the on-site restaurant, Postcards American Bistro. The 950 Lounge features great drink specials and live musical entertainment. Seasonally there is a poolside bar and grill along with dive in movies each evening.
The hotel offer 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space which can accommodate groups from 10 to 500. We specialize in weddings with one of the only private outdoor lush wedding gardens in San Diego.
Rooms
The Hotel has 217 guestrooms including 4 suites in four two-story buildings with interior corridors. Our standard and superior guest rooms include custom marble top furniture, 37" flat screen TV with 40 channels, refrigerators, coffeemakers, ergonomic desk chair and wireless Internet access (surcharge). Our Superior rooms have a balcony or patio. Our Premier rooms include all of the above plus complimentary internet access, bottled water, ihome, upgraded bathroom amenities and robe and slippers.

Seasonally (May - September) we have a poolside bar and grill where nightly we show movies and a Sunday pool party with live entertainment. The 950 Lounge features happy hour with entertainment, drink and food specials.
Recreation
Guests enjoy an oversized outdoor heated pool and hot tub and poolside fitness room complete with free weights and cardio fitness machines. We are adjacent Riverwalk Golf Club a 27 hole championship course and driving range. The San Diego, Zoo, Sea World, Old Town, Mission Bay Aquatic Park and miles of breathtaking beaches are within five miles.

“Was very pleased, both with the convenience and the quality.”
Wasn't really sure what to expect when I first booked the hotel, but it was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. The room was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and exceedingly nice.

“Amazing Service!”
We loved this hotel; the service was fantastic. Everyone there was so helpful. The shuttle service was a big plus; saves on taxi fares if you are looking to not rent a car and still have access to San Diego's most popular destinations. Pool and hot tub were another plus (poolside room was especially great!). Absolutely no complaints about this place; we would go back in a second!
“Perfect Retreat for Anyone!”
I was at the Handlery for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was In San Diego saying goodbye to my husband because he was being deployed. They allowed him to check in for me since he got off early and surprised me when we arrived, it was great!! The room was large, the bed was WAY comfortable, and the bathroom (though it wasn't large) was big enough and very clean! The hotel dining room was beautiful, it had a bar, served AMAZING breakfast, and wasn't too too expensive. They had an enterprize rental car service right there in the lobby with the most helpful person I met in all Of San Diego. Her name was Ashley and she really went the extra mile for us out of towners!! It was in the perfect area for people who want to get out the hotel and see the sights, it was less than a mile way from the trolley that could take you to old town, down town, and even the Navy boat that you can tour that i can't remember the name right now. I really loved the Handlery Hotel and I would recommend it to any one!!

I loved our stay at the Handlery Hotel and Resort. It was very clean and the hotel staff were very nice. I especially liked the pool area which was a ver nice place to relax in. The hotel was close to just about everything
“Great Value, Lots to Enjoy”
The Handlery is a 3 star hotel with a 2 star price tag, if you book far enough in advance. It's an older property, but has been nicely renovated and has ameneties like sheets with a really sumptuous thread count. Riverwalk Golf Course is excellent and shopping at the nearby mall is fabulous. With a low room rate, rent a car; the drive to downtown is easy, 15 minutes max. We enjoyed simply great value all around.
“Handerly Hotel was wonderful”
Hotel was a little dated on the outside, but the inside room was elegant, cleaner then I expected, and very comfortable. I was surprised to see so many pillows on the bed without having to ask for more. Hotel staff was very friendly, and every question I had asked about my trip/stay in san diego was answered beyond my expectations. I stayed in a room in the La Jolla building. Must of went on my trip during off season, I felt I had the entire building to myself. Hotel cleaning staff was nice and worked around my schedual to not bother me during the day time to clean the room. I did not get a chance to try breakfast, but the on site restaraunt had great food delivered to my room. I will be booking another stay at this hotel again! Fashion Valley mall is 1 block away, found so much to do around the area. Bus stop right outside the building made travelling cheap and easy to anywhere in san diego.
“Great hotel - would stay again.”
I was apprehensive after reading other's reviews but it was only for a short stay and conveniently located. When we arrived we found the lobby to be beautiful, there was a gift shop and a restaurant right off the lobby. There was plenty of parking and we were registered and in our room in record time. The hotel has been remodeled and everything is new. The room was beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. There were amenities and more than enough towels. It was quiet and we slept like babies. I would stay at this hotel again in the San Diego area, especially when you compare the price of a large, big name hotel. They were all 3X as much. Plenty of parking and easy access to the freeway.
