Rooms
This hotel's 195 guestrooms on the top five floors of a historic nine-story building are decorated with modern art prints, crown moldings, olive-colored accent walls, and leopard-print carpets. Rooms have cotton sheets and down comforters and pillows. Furnishings include custom glass-panel armoires, lounge chairs with throw blankets, and desks with upholstered chairs.
Rooms have high-speed and wireless Internet access (surcharges apply). Internet connection cables are available for in-room use on request. Other amenities include minibars; three telephones, including one in the bathroom; CD players; video games; umbrellas; and in-room safes. Complimentary coffee/tea makers are available on request. Specialty TV stations include a meditation channel and a yoga channel; complimentary yoga mats, straps, and blocks are available for in-room use. Granite bathrooms feature Aveda bath products, framed mirrors, and chrome fixtures.
“Tall rooms” (available on request) have extra-long mattresses. Rollaway beds are available on request for a surcharge.

Hotel Palomar San Francisco’s acclaimed Fifth Floor Restaurant and Lounge is renowned for its fresh, savory modern American cuisine with a classic French twist employed by culinary star David Bazirgan, voted hottest chef in America by Eater.com, receiving a rave review by the San Francisco Chronicle in March 2011. All menu items are fresh from a farmer’s market. Accompanying the excellent fare is a reputable wine list, recipient of the Grand Award from Wine Spectator. The restaurant’s executive pastry chef Francis Ang finds inspiration from his travels throughout Asia to create desserts such as rum baba with pineapple three ways; kaffir leaf-coconut sorbet, basil seeds; and chocolate mousse bombe with orange cream, hazelnut crunch, mandarins, and hazelnut ice cream. The restaurant also presents an array of handcrafted, creative cocktails using the finest liquors and freshest ingredients.
Recreation
The Palomar's 24-hour fitness facility has a treadmill, an exercise bike, free weights, and a weight machine. Guests can use a nearby fitness center with a swimming pool and a range of cardio and weight machines (surcharge). Guests may enjoy eco-friendly spa services (reservations required) in their guestrooms: soothing massages, body treatments and facials with natural, organic products. The hotel has two specialty in-room television stations-a meditation channel and a yoga channel-and yoga mats, blocks, and straps are available for complimentary in-room use.
The hotel is one block from Yerba Buena Gardens, which has a children's playground, an indoor ice-skating rink, and an antique carousel. Several public golf courses in San Francisco are nearby, including the Presidio Golf Club (four miles from the hotel) and the Lincoln Park Golf Course (six miles). Bike rentals can be arranged. The Embarcadero, one mile from the hotel, is popular with joggers. Many visitors to San Francisco walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, five miles from the hotel. Parking is available at both ends of the bridge.

“Great place to stay for events and the Moscone Center”
We arrived at the hotel and were greeted like we VIP's. The doors were always opened for us as we approached the entrance from either inside or outside. The front desk staff always had friendly words for us as we passed and were very helpful when we asked for directions or suggestions for meals and other destinations. Our room was larger then expected, very clean and comfortable.
“Great boutique hotel close to Union Square shopping, convenient to therest of the City”
Great location, easy to get around. Close to Market Street and Union Square. Walk to Chinatown and easy cab or bus to Castro, etc. Nice room, nicely decorated, including common areas, etc. Helpful and friendly hotel staff. Very responsive when i needed little things, like a vase for some flowers or when the cable went on the fritz. In both instances they were there "now" with what I needed.
“Beautiful boutique hotel”
I stayed there for one night and loved the hotel. It's adorable and a very convenient walk to Union Square.
“Great Hotel for moderate price”
The palomar was located just a few steps from the BART station on Market Street, a short walk to Union Square, the Powell Street Streetcar and a couple of blocks from the Moscone Center where my conference was. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well appointed. I would stay there again.
“Absolutely the best!!”
Very pleased with everything. The room, the service, any questions, Lauren even gave me her number if I had difficulty getting in touch with my family in the Bay Area, which was the reason I was in the area. I can't say say enough about how great everyone was!!
“Home away from home”
I've stayed at the Palomar several times and have never been disappointed. The staff are unfailingly courteous, rooms well-appointed and comfortable. If only they'd add premium cable channels to their offerings it'd be perfect!
“Perfect location”
The hotel is a 1/2 block from the BART. You can get from the airport to the hotel in about 20-25 minutes for $5.15. Much better than a cab. Also, the cable cars are 1/2 block away. You can take the cable car to Fisherman's Wharf and many other attractions. No need to rent a car or take a cab.

“A Great Location”
We stayed at Hotel Palomar for 3 nights during the San Francisco portion of our trip. It was very convenient to the Powell Street BART station (just a little over a block away), cable cars, museums, etc. This is a very crowded area and not sure that I would personally choose this again, but if you want convenience, this hotel can't be beat. Maverick the Hospital Dog was at the doggie spa during our stay, so we did not get to meet him. We got a great last-minute deal on Expedia, well below other hotels in the area. The room itself was small, but nice.
“Small Luxurious Hotel”
The hotel is centrally located in Downtown and it's in a great location. The hotel is small and has a tiny lobby area but it's really personal and beautifully designed.
