“Made a Great Choice for First Time”
We couldn't have been more happy with our choice for our first visit to SF. The hotel is very clean. The room was extremely clean and very nice. The views aren't very scenic, but I can't imagine many hotels being that way. The views are good in terms of being able to see the surrounding hustle and bustle. They were interesting since we hadn't been to SF. The outside staff (bellhops, doormen, etc) are great. The service desk could be more expedient at times, but no worries since you usually rarely need to deal with them. The rooms are wonderful, the bathrooms come stock with all sorts of knicknacks and products (above and beyond shampoo and conditioner). The location is great for walking about anywhere you would probably want to go (Chinatown, North Beach, Wharf, Financial, etc) and you can get a cab within seconds of stepping out of the hotel if you desire.
“Excellent! We'll be back!”
From the doormen to the maid service, the place is a delight. Clean, well appointed rooms and a comforable bed made for an enjoyable stay. You will hear some "city" noises at virtually any hour so if you're used to rural quiet or a light sleeper you may want a sleep aid. One of the main cable car routes is right in front of the hotel so you'll hear it go by from time to time. Didn't bother us a bit. We were on the 6th floor overlooking the street so maybe higher up or the back side of the hotel would be better? There was always complimentary Starbucks coffee in the morning and citrus water and fruit in the afternoon and evening down in the lobby.
“Omni is superb”
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is courteous and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay here anytime I am in San Francisco
“A real find ...”
Great location, great ambiance, great service !
“Great Hotel in a great city”
Clean dignified hotel with a great location. Cable cars just outside the front door. Chinatown just blocks away. Good service. Enjoyed a great trip without worry.
“Can't wait to go back”
The rooms were roomy and exceptionally clean. Everything was there, that we needed. Fitness Center was perfect for our athletic college aged children.
“Birthday by the bay.”
My wife booked this hotel via Expedia.com for my birthday which is near the end of December. We live in the Phoenix area and (believe it or not) get a little board of perfect weather and sunshine. I got exactly what I wanted! The hotel is exquisite! A grand lobby with all the elegance of the best hotels in Europe, a well polished staff a perfect (I do not use that word often) location and great rooms. We happened to arrive just as a wet storm was hitting the Bay area, which for most would have been a downer, but for me was a plus. Even though the cable cars are nearby I loved walking the town it is really an easy and exhilarating walk to just about anywhere in the city. One exceptionally stormy night we took advantage of the town car service offered by the hotel and was impressed with their accommodating attitude, and even less expensive than a local taxi. The concierge recommended some fabulous restaurants and we lucked upon some great ones as well. Come to think of it is hard not to find a great restaurant in North beach, China-Town, and the Pier area. We even had a stellar view of the Bay and the Trans America Tower from the 17th floor room.
“Excellent hotel”
Concierge was very helpful in giving dining suggestions, and help in getting rental car back to the airport (including best place to gas up the car).
“Ideal location”
Excellent location.Close proximity to a variety of quality restaurants.Hotel extremely comfortable for a city break.Staff professional and well informed.Would certainly return.
“Very nice hotel, friendly, helpful staff.”
I liked the location of the hotel, within walking distance of shopping area's, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, etc. The majority of shopping in the financial district is upscale, like Gucci, Versace and similar stores. Many excellent restaurants in the area.
