“Great location”
The motel staff was FABULOUS...very willing to help us out. We arrived before check in and had numerous bags. They graciously kept them safe for us until our return...9 hours later. FREE parking and continental breakfast. Price was reasonable and we will definitely stay there again. Again, the staff was GREAT!
“About the best”
We were able to go to the Exploratorium, The American Science Meusium, and so much more. We knew when we got back each night that our room would have nice cozy beds and heat. I actually wore no socks the floor seemed that clean!
“Cheap and convenient location.”
Great price and close to the Marina District, North Beach, and Fisherman's Wharf.
“Convenient location and Fun neighborhood”
My experience with this hotel was absolutely wonderful. I read the other reviews and thought it would be horrifyingly awful, but it was quite the opposite. The room had a king size bed, fridge, and microwave, just as the photo shows. We had a nice view of the city, and it was close to restaurants, public transportation, and was in a great neighborhood of town. We loved the area (Pacific heights/Marina District) because there was a younger 20-something crowd for the most part. The only down side was there was no air conditioning, but during our stay the temperatures were in the high 60's, low 70's so it wasn't a big deal at all. Also, the continental breakfast is actually just a selection of juices and prepackaged muffins and pastries... but with an IHOP one block away with cheap "side selection" options it wasn't a bad deal for us at all -- especially since the price of the hotel was so cheap. And, lastly, the bathroom was fairly small... but it did have a sink, shower, and toilet which was all we needed :) Overall it was a great stay, especially for the price. I'd definitely stay there again.
“Decent Place to Stay”
Decent upkeep of the hotel. Good choices of nearby restaurants within easy walking distance. Front desk could smile at least a little since they are in the hospitality business. They are not in the gloom and doom business. I would stay here again for the location and price.
“Worth the price.”
A family of 2 adults and 2 children, we found the Presidio a very good budget hotel for our 5 day vacation at San Francisco. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The managers are courteous and most helpful - arranging tours, cabs, odd hour checkin/ checkout. Food: The breakfast is bagels, muffins, coffee/tea and juices, but considering the scale of the hotel, and the pricing it is acceptable for the early morning tuck in till you are on the road. The room was equipped with microwave and refrigerator, thus most convenient to store some ready meals to take care of odd hour/ special food needs. Else there are some good restaurants in the vicinity. Will strongly recommend Viva goa, just a few steps away, for authentic Indian especially Goan cuisine. Their lunch buffet is well priced. Avoid the KFC - the chicken was raw and bland. Location: Just over a mile from the Fisherman's wharf, we would walk up in the mornings, and take a cab ($9) on return. Hotel pickup is available for tours outside San Francisco (we took the Yosemite). Also hop-on tour buses ply on the same street. Plenty of shops available on the Chestnut Street, just a block across. We did not spot any nuisance in the neighbourhood. Facility: TV in room. No laundry. Laundromat available 2mins walk, dispensers for coins and detergents available there.
“Good but could have been better”
The lobby was pretty small, but the staff did well with what they had. Rooms were clean but could have used to be re-painted. Over all was worth the price.
“David A”
The hotel is older but the rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. Make sure you park in the correct areas or you will get towed
“Lombard Street Stay”
Hotel and rooms were adequate for our needs. No need to spend more when all you do is sleep there. Front office very accommodating, friendly and helpful.
“Standard hotel”
It's a standard hotel where you can stay a couple of nights. Location is not the best but it is not that bad either.
