“A great stay!”
Over the years I have stayed at a number of hotels when I visited San Francisco. The Touchstone Hotel was certainly the best value I have experienced and I had a great stay.
“Kaz C”
Will stay here again...amazing experience.
“Perfect for lone female travelers”
My first time traveling by myself and it was perfect. The staff were really helpful and did all they could to check me in early so I could start exploring. For what you pay it's a great little hotel close to all you need. I would certainly stay there again if I was ever in the city in the future. No bed bugs, everyone before I traveled went on about San Fran being the worse place for them & I thought with booking an inexpensive hotel I might have problems! But no all was good.
“Need not look any further for a hotel in San Francisco”
If you are looking for a well-maintained affordable hotel in San Francisco, you need not look any further. The Touchstone hotel in conveniently located in the heart of Union Square and its low prices and high quality service make the perfect pick for any price conscious traveler.
“Would go back if i need a place to sleep by Union Square Area!”
The room was small but i was expecting that after reading previous reviews. but for me just to sleep for the night was Perfect. It was clean and in a perfect location close to Union Square and the Bart. There was a restaurant deli downstairs and the food was good! Id go back if needed to stay in that area.
“Amazing Location”
We decided to splurge a bit on the hotel for this trip, normally we go el-cheapo, but a friend of ours convinced us that the $$ we save by staying at a hotel near the airport is not worth the convenience of the location. So we looked about and found this hotel. WOW. The neighbourhood is SAFE and CENTRAL. Just 2 short blocks to Union St (where the Cable Cars and Union Square is located) and 5 short blocks to the BART Powell Street station. We explored the city and there are some sketchy neighbourhoods you should avoid, like the SOMA (South of Market Area) Where some of the hotels we had considered were located. There's a restaurant you HAVE to go to, always has a line up, but it's worth it... DOTTIES 522 Jones Street, which is literally around the corner from the restaurant. Only opens until 3pm. If you plan to explore the city for 3+ days, buy the MUNI 3 day Passports. It's only $20 plus it includes all the buses, cable cars & street cars. All the rooms are SMALL, but it's very clean with really comfortable pillows. We hung the "DO NOT DISTRUB" sign for our 3 day stay, so we can't comment on the service. We were just happy to come home to a nice cozy & safe place. Their elevator is really slim, so really large people might have to wait their turn. If you don't stay here do yourself a favour & research the neighbourhood before you commit, cause some of them are scary & I would not recommend anyone walking there at night time or day time.
“Small hotel in an awesome area”
Small, but clean, great service with a great price in a fun area. But my room was too loud being right above the dumpsters and listening to sirens all night. Great if you are on vacation, but I was staying there the night before a big interview so didn't get much sleep. Double bed, comfortable. Thin blanket, given extra blankets and portable heater when requested. Clean bathroom, flat screen tv. Complimentary water. Easy access to public transportation. Would stay here again.
“Very good”
Next to union square. Good for the price
“Great place to stay”
Very nice place to stay. Only issue we had was parking but other then that it was top notch for the price we paid.
“Plain but pleasant”
My review is as above
