“Great deal”
The other reviews of this hotel weren't glowing so we weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds were really comfy and the room nice and quiet. The hotel is not brand new but the amenities are certainly up to standard, especially for such a good price. Would definitely recommend it for a night or two.
“Good, clean hotel for the price”
I needed a low-cost hotle quickly while looking for an apartment in San Jose and took a chance of Elan. I realyl enjoyed my stay. The room looked like new, if dated, like the decor of the 1980s. I upgraded to a king bed for about $2 more. The room was very clean and had all I needed for a brief stay at the price -- TV with cable (3 HBO stations), good bed, coffee pot w. coffee and tea, plenty of clean towels, good shower, clean carpet and bedspread, a desk for my laptop, ironing board, hairdryer, closet, drawers, etc. I was actually surprised how nice it was. The next morning I had their free continental breakfast and took it to my room -- it was good: rolls, bagel assortment, three cereals with milk, juices, fruits, etc. Only thing was a guest's car alarm went off for no apparent reason several times at night, but not the hotel's fault. This place is worth it, for sure for the price. I walked the middle class neighborhood, not it's not upper class, not much to do (there was one nightclub, however),.but there are fast food places and a few good Mexican sit-down eateries. Good choice for a cheap, clean, comfortable overnight stay.
“Pleasant Stay”
I went to San Jose to visit a friend for a day. The stay at Hotel Elan was pleasant. The hotel was automatically supplied with extra towels by the room attendant. The room was clean and had a nice sized TV. Overall, there was more inside the hotel then I expected like bottles of shampoo, a hair dryer, ironing board, shower cap, coffee pot (with coffee), a safe, refrigerator and microwave.
“Nothing special”
Nothing special, but if you need just a bed for sleep it's perfect.
“It was a place to sleep, not anything else.”
It's not a place to write home about but it met our minimum requirement for cleanliness and quiet ambiance.
“Very basic OK, decent for the price”
The hotel was very basic and served the purpose of having a place to sleep for the night for business travel. The internet worked fine, but there was no access to an exercise faciliy as stated on some website. Breakfast was pretty minimal, but for the price of the hotel, I didn't mind skipping it and heading out for breakfast. I would stay here again in the absence of other options, but I would look elsewhere first.
“planning to go next time”
ITs quite good hotel where you get good service with cheap price.I like this hotel.
“servay”
the rooms were noisy, you could hear the sounds of the car all night. they could have some sound proof windows.
“Not impressed”
The room is not very clean; blanket look old and dirty; carpet is "sticky". It's not worth the money.
“Don't take the cheap route!”
I went the cheaper route so I guess I got what I paid for. The over all hotel rating would be higher but we had to wait for 15 minutes at check in for the front desk woman (with plugs in her ears) to finish talking to her superior on the phone telling them about the housekeepers who were fighting with one another. She didn't even make eye contact with us until we had been standing there for 15 minutes. She didn't acknowledge us until another couple walked in behind us. That left us with a horrible first impression. All we needed was "I'll be right with you". It's not like there were other guests being helped before us. The room it self was a step above a motel 6 but this hotel is definitely not for light sleepers. You can hear EVERYTHING! Spend the extra $ and get a decent night's sleep else where. I'm not one to complain but there really was nothing good to say about our experience :(
