“I'm not a VIP, but I felt like one at Bacara”
Beautiful location on the CA coast just North of Santa Barbara that was peaceful and relaxing. A 5-star spa and hotel experience that exceeds that of the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, in our opinion. We stayed mid-week during off season and found the place nearly vacant of other guests. The place was immaculate and well staffed, nontheless. Despite reserving a basic room at off-season rates, we were upgraded to a suite by way of simple politeness to the reception desk staff, and without asking. The spa was often ours alone and an excellent experience from professional practitioners and staff. We will return!
“Santa Barbara's Best Hotel”
This is one of the most beautiful hotels, in one of the most stunning natural settings. No place is perfect, but this comes pretty close. The only minor blemish was their attemps to add $24 to the bill as we checked-out for a "parking fee." The hotel is out of town along the highway, so parking a car is pretty much essential to getting there. This unexpected fee nearly ruined my experience there, but they did back down when I challended them on it since there is no obvious alterantive.
“Great stay for special occasions.”
Hotel was wonderful. You need to be able to walk up and down pretty good size hills within the hotel's beautiful gardens. Parking was a bit high at $24 per night.. The food was really delicious but the patio dining at night was very dark such that we needed flashlights to read the menu and we had trouble seeing what we were eating. We certainly would return for another visit.
“Planning on returning again next year for New Years”
This is our big splurge for the year to pamper ourselves, very relaxing, treated like royalty. Privacy is respected. Friendly and very helpful staff. Loved the transformation for New Years Eve....very nice. Drinks were made very well. Food in all restaurants was DELICIOUS ! Love this hotel ! Everyone deserves a stay at BACARA and experience their luxury.
“A Hotel to Boast About”
Fabulous view. Caring, accomodating staff. Friendly atmosphere
“Great Special Occasion Getaway Location”
Went for our 25th Anniversary. Had a beautiful room, and ate at the restuarant at the resort. Great experience. Close, but not too close to downtown Santa Barbara.
“The best hotel ever ! Wonderful !”
Stayed 5 nights at the Bacara with my wife and 2 kids. It is the best hotel I ever stayed in years ! Wonderful ! Great view and spectacular SPA with complimentary GYM classes. Simply sensational !
“Anniversary done perfect”
The Bacara was wonderful. The perfect relaxing trip for couples. The scenery and accommodations were great. Every attention to detail was done and the staff did everything over and above to accommodate our request from room choice to recommendations for places to eat. GREAT GREAT Resort. We will definately be back!!
“Like "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" at an affordable price!”
We loved the location, spa and general ambiance!
“Santa Barbara's Secret Gem”
We arrived on a Thursday and checked out on Saturday. A very quick getaway. The weather was terrible, but seriously it did not dampen our enjoyment. The restaurants, food, ambiance was exquisite. The spa experience was to die for. We spent at least 6 hours on Friday! Friendly staff; very curtious and helpful. I would recommend it to all my friends.
