“Breezy ocean escape!”
We loved this affordable hotel that was basically right on the beach. The location of this place can't be beat. A short walk to State street and to Stearns Wharf. Highly reccommend.
“Nice Place”
Although an old hotel without air conditioning, it was very comfortable and well appointed. Staff was great. Location is good. Right across from the beach and Stearns Wharf.
“Great surprise”
My family made reservations at the Oceana at the last minute when other plans fell through. And boy were we glad we did. We arrived at night so missed the spectacular scenery that greeted us in the morning. I would advise driving during the day to fully enjoy it. Hotel is right on the beach and has beautiful grounds and is walkable to recreation and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only regret was that we could not stay longer.
“Hope the helps some”
My overall experience I have to say, was pretty good. The winning factor I loved about the hotel, is definitely its location. It's a 2 min. walk from the pier and beach. Open the window at night, and the sounds of the waves, along with the chill of the night will allow you to sleep like no other. And to me, that was the key thing that won me over with this place. The only real negative I have on this hotel would be parking, and size of the room. For parking, if you drive a big truck, I almost recommend parking on the street and saving the $15 parking fee. Medium and small trucks, its your preference, but the parking is generally sized for small/ medium cars. As for the size of the room, well it just felt smaller then what I was used to. I do hope this helps some, and enjoy your stay at Santa Barbara.
“Hotel Oceana is Great in a Pinch”
I booked this room last minute. I was doing a 1/2 marathon and decided it would be great to wake up in the town I was doing it in! This was probably the last room available in Santa Barbara. No joke! The room was clean and the ocean view was lovely. Not a lot of frills but a comfy bed (in spite of the polyester sheets) and a nice flat screen. I was upgraded when I got there. Not sure why or how, but didn't ask. One really cool thing was, in the morning when I went to the lobby for complimentary fruit and coffee, there were 3 sailors asleep on the lobby couches. The clerk told me that they came in last night with no place to stay. Santa Barbara was sold out, so the Hotel Oceana let them crash on the comfy couches instead of sleeping in the train station. A patriotic hotel with a heart. You can't beat that!
“Perfect location”
Great location. Older rooms but charming.
“Very nice Hotel !”
Very good, nice, clean and hotel stuff kind and helpful, do not miss it if you go to Santa Barbara
“Great location”
Location was right on the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. Sheets were super-soft! Little bottles of bath stuff were fun. Plan to go back.
“Great location”
I thought that our stay at the Hotel Oceana Santa Barbara was excellent. The room had two bedrooms which was nice because our children shared a bed in the other bedroom. There was a little bit of street noise, but what would you expect in such a desirable location. Walking distance to the wharf and the the pier. We enjoyed our stay and would go back to the same place.
“Great Value Hotel”
Clean, well kept, cozy. A fun intimate spot. Great for couple getaway, not for big families.
