“wish I was there now!”

The building is an older structure but most of santa cruze was. The rooms were very clean. The service was very good. I would rate it better than the score when I read it on the net. I was very satisfied.

“Convenient & fairly-comfy”

Front desk fellow when I checked in was very pleasant. Room had nicer-than-basic amenities [soaps etc], sheets were soft enough, bed seemed a bit worn but otherwise everything was pretty great. Enjoyed the refrigerator. Nice front desk gal at check-out. Would stay again if I needed a room in the area [downtown SC or Seabright].

“Santa Cruz Hotel”

I have stayed at the University Inn & Conference Center before and was completely satisfied. The location is excellent for getting around downtown as well as UCSC where my son attends. I like that it has a workout room and a pool. A little confused on the meal availability....they were closed at 10:30 a.m. when I went to get coffee. The front desk people are pleasant and helpful. I will stay there again.

“Clean but just average”

Everyplace was full, thus we stayed here. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and quite. As for the service and decor it was just average.

“Accommodations unreliable”

The first room we were assigned had one wooden desk chair - nothing else for the two of us to sit on. When we complained they first said there was nothing they could do, that was all the room had. We went to the desk and asked for a different room and they transferred us, but mentioned they had asked maintenance to bring us another chair for the first room. The second room was fine - no comfortable chairs but a small couch. Neither room had refrigerator or microwave - those are only by request, if available.

“Decent place near the University”

Price was commensurate with the service, and was convenient to the University for our needs. It's a longer walk to the boardwalk and downtown area. Quiet location.

“Very nice”

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Strangely the first room assigned to us had an unmade bed and a can of Coke, but they quickly gave us keys to a differernt, equally good room. The swimming pool is nice and the location is fabulous.
