“Excelent Family Vacation”
We choosed this hotel because a friend of us recomended it , at the begining we were not sure about it, but after checking in we were completely sure that was the best place to be. Room was very clean and delicated decorate, the flowers in the bathroom, the bathrobs and sleepers place on bed in the most delicated way you can imagine. The sorroundings were beautiful, and garden as well, everything is close, not that huge that your kids can get lost, so you always have an eye on them. one we loved the simpathy of the employess, who were always smiling. We receive a very good and personalize treatment from all of them. We would liek to say that the Restaurants, bars, reception, housekeeping and concierge staff are very professional and nice persons. If you go there pass by the Taino Buffet restaurant where you will receive the best service ever and food is delicious. Thanks to Ellis the Food and beverage manager and the chef Morenito, Pablo and Ferrand. The bar staff is very friendly. We want to thank also the Concierge Staff who were always so kind, professional and friendly, the gave us an extraordianry service, Thanks to our Privielged Cocnierge Freddy (thanks for the pillows and your smile) to the Chief Concierge Aida who was so kind and professional, she treat us like kings , also to her staff at Conciege who alwasy when she was not there treat us also excelent!!! Our kids enjoyed this vacation more than anyone else, Catalonia we will definetely come back!!!
“Can't wait to go back!!:)”
We had such a great time we can't wait to go back. At check in we paid a little more to be upgrades as a "Priviledge" guest, make sure to do this because the room we got before was very very old and didn't look very clean. There was no problem upgrading us, they gave us the key quickly and it was really worth it... I wish all the room where like that. Besides that absolutely everything was amazing, you'll definitely be satisfied. The food is incredibly good, the service is superb and the activities really fun. Make sure to take one of those tours that takes you to one the islands. We went to Catalina Island on a Catamaran and did some snorkling (first time for me and it was amazing!)). We'll definitely go back!!
“Little Europe of the Caribbean”
We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Dominicus! It caters mostly to European tourists and it felt like we were the only Americans there which was a plus for us! The pizzeria/Italian restaraunt was fabulous, the beach was beautiful, the staff was extremely friendly (but mostly spoke spanish, french and Italian though it was never a problem). All in all this resort was a mini-Europe in the caribbean.... best of both worlds. We will definately go back.
“Great place to relax”
I loved my stay at this hotel. My boyfriend and I planned our first vacation together and visited Dom. Rep. We decided to stay for part of the vacation at Catalonia and it was great experience. The beach was BEAUTIFUL, the staff was very friendly (without being annoying) but what we love the most was the quiet, and relaxing atmosphere the hotel offers. The food was good, the pool was great and even though the rooms dont have the best decorum, dont let the pictures fool you, the place is more beautiful in person. So if your looking to relax and soak up some sun, this hotel is the one for you.
“Can't wait to go again!”
We really enjoy Catalonia! This is our 3rd time this year and our 6th time to La Romana. The pool is super - espically for kids. The beach is great fun. The rooms are simple but nicely done and clean. The food is good especially the small restaurant past the main one. Yes - the staff speak Spanish and Italian (we are in the DR) and are very friendly. The resort is clean and well maintained. It used to be the Venta Club. It was nice then and we believe better now. Can't wait to go back.
“I am going back ! No question ! Serious it was one of the best i ever been too ...”
The staff are so attentive ! relaxing fun crazy always ready to help and make you feel welcome and special ... Go all out for you ! always want to see you smile ... Fun staff food excellent atmosphere very good and lively shows are great ! pool is big great for kids and adults alike bunch of activities to do ! Romantic settings .... My room was excellent and comfortable housekeeper's are very good ! leave room in clean and romantic feel with there little touch of cleaning ...... flower's snacks .... water is very clean and clear . just go and see for yourself .... Trust me yopu won't be dissapointed .... Just enjoy yourself and let them do the rest make you have fun .... u can't but have fun ! they wil have you laughing all day ...
“Better than Expected”
NYC Dominican resident couple, early 20s Staff was friendly and helpful. Food improved over the week stay but had a great variety. Room was cleaned and organized on a daily basis. Room was situated right next to "the action" per se. PRIVILEGED ROOMS are worth the money. The animation crew was extremely entertaining. The pool is huge and caters to everyone's height. The beach was stunning. Plenty of room to sunbathe and hide under the shade. Presidente beer drafts are amazing. Good alcoholic beverages. Tipping the bartenders goes a long way. Cons Only one bar There was some type of holiday so during the weekend the locals visited in abundance
“I'm coming back for honeymoon”
perfect!
“Absolutely Amazing!”
I haven't had this much fun in a while. Learned up some Spanish and learned to salsa dance. Made friends with lots of the staff and bartenders. The resort itself is beautiful and well kept. Everything in general is great great great!
“Good enough”
Hotel is nicely located on Bayahibe beach, good condition, clean, no complaints about the room, good all around activities during the day. They even have an archery area. On the negative side, food can be improved, variety is lacking and quality may be what is expected for price. Night activities are very boring, and that definitively must be improved. Waiters at buffet and room service is very nice. We were told that to eat A la carte restaurants we needed to make reservations one week before, which doesn't make sense cause most people don't stay that long, it may has been an excuse for some other things. I noticed they make it hard for dominicans to make reservation at this type of restaurants.
