“Nice hotel for attending conventions”
Nice hotel, especially if you are attending convention in the same building. Almost all of the services are excellent except for restoraunt in the hotel lobby (mixing dishes from orders from different tables, even in bills) and conditioning in the room which is either too hot or too cold
“Best location in Pudong, Shanghai”
I like the hotel best for its ocation on the river and having a beautiful garden around. My best time is spent when I walk in riverside park at early morning because of Jetlag. The room with bund view is priceless!
“Would like to go back.”
Beautiful hotel. Most employees could speak good English.
“Great Base in Shanghai”
This hotel is attached to the convention centre and has the feel of a large convention hotel. However, the foyer area is really nice and the rooms were really well appointed. It is in an excellent location, really close to the subway station (which will get you to all the sights of the city) and close to the pearl tv tower. It's also close to the weird tourist monorail thing which goes under the river and takes you to the Bund. The hotel is also next to a huge shopping mall with all the western chain restaurants and a good supermarket. A really great location. We had breakfast each morning which was quite good and ate dinner in the hotel one night (which was so-so). Overall really good value for money and a comfortable, convenient place to stay.
“Good value for money”
Riverside Oriental was a very pleasant experiance, Superior riverside room had amazing views to Bund. Hotel staff was extremely helpful and spoke quite good english. Location on the Pudong side wasn't very good, on rush hour Taxi drivers refused to drive us to the Pudong side of the river. Location is the only downside, otherwise very nice hotel when you're travalling with your own money.
“Excellent Choice”
We stayed at this hotel for 10 days and never had any issues. Staff was great! One of the bellboys is American and speaks Chinese and English and was a great help. Will stay again on my next visit!
“Excellent Hotel”
Excellent hotel with beautiful rooms overlooking the river and the Bund. Beside the Pearl Tower, underground station, and scenic railway which runs under the river to the Bund. Right beside Pearl Tower. Hotel facilities were very good with a beautiful circular swimming pool surrounded by glass windows giving views over the city. Only downside was that restaurants were always empty. This meant not much of an atmosphere, but equally very efficient service.
“recomended”
Have stayed in over 10 hotels in Shanghai, and I was pleasently surprise by a hotel that I have avoided for years for fear of tourists that decent on the area. However I found the Oriental a joy and a pleasure. I look forward to visiting again.
“Very Nice”
This hotel has an excellent location and is first rate. The rooms are clean and large. I stayed in a river view room and would recommend it for the extra money. Language is always a barrier in China but this staff does a great job.
“Location, Location, Location!”
This hotel is in the perfect location for a torist. 2 minutes walk from the metro stations makes it easy to travel around shanghai. The hotel itself is great. Nice food and service in around the hotel and the rooms themselves are clean and comfortable. i have stayed in some great hotels all over the world and this was one of the most enjoyable.
