“5 days in the Rayfont Shanghai Xuhui Hotel”
I stayed in this hotel for 5 days. Overall the quality and services were great. The english level of the staff is sometimes not 100%. The subway is far away. Keep in mind that the hotel itself is not one bulding, but 8 separate building with different facilities.
“EXCELLENT PRICE FOR IT LOCATION”
The hotel is in good location and the price was very good. The services was excellent. The breakfast wasn't that good specially if leave in western part of the world. Over all the hotel is excellent and safe and very clean. the room is some kind of small but of one persona it was very good.
“Good price, good position”
Very good price for my 7 night stay, comfortable smallish room with fantastic views. Breakfast extra and uninspiring. Staff very helpful and most spoke english well. Hotel well positioned about 10 minutes across busy road to nearest metro station and 2 km to Peoples Park and the Bund. French Concession eating and shopping 15min walk to the north.
“Stay here, but don't eat here!”
I've stayed in many hotels around the world and China. I've also stayed in several hotels in Shanghai. This hotel is a good place to stay on pretty much every level. The staff are very friendly, most of them speak good English. The hotel is pleasant and clean. The rooms are a decent size and good value for what I was paying. There are only really a couple of drawbacks: (1) It's about 20mins walk from the nearest metro station. But that's not too much of a problem. (2) Room service. DON'T BOTHER! I tried to order a drink in my room. The price of the wine was fine - but then I was told I would have to pay another 50RMB for the use of a glass! (3) The one night I went to eat in the restaurant I was met by the Maitre De who simply snarled 'NO!'. It took a couple of minutes to point out I was a guest and as it was pouring down outside I wanted to have a meal in the restaurant. In the end I got a table, had the menu pratically thrown at me and ended up walking out. Apart from these minor iritations, this hotel really is a FAB place to stay in Shanghai.

Good Hotel, good area, nice tidy room, good bathroom, not too noisey, competent staff...
“Convenient Location and Reasonable Price”
This hotel is located a short distance from the subway which allows for reaching most anywhere in Shanghai reasonably quickly. New shopping center with many fashion, electronics stores and restaurants a couple of blocks to the east. KFC, McDonald's, Starbuck's nearby. Check out the restaurants in the mall and the newly remodeled shops and restaurants to the south of the mall. Hotel is clean and reasonably priced. Serviice is better than average. Get out and see the sights of Shanghai!

The hotel room was nice and the service was decent. Would have been nice if it was in a location with more nightlife, but can't argue for the price.

The hotel is of convient location, but the room is a little bit smaller than expectation. It's a good choice if you want to go around to explore the city life.

“Good Experience at the Rayfont”
The room was clean and acceptable, and the bed comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating. We did find that the front desk was a buzz of activity, bordering on the intense. We enjoyed the morning buffet and judged it to be a good deal. We initially had a problem with the shower, and the staff graciously upgraded us. The location of the Rayfont is close to the Shanghai subway system, which is excellent. We recommend this hotel.
