“Secluded and relaxing paradise”
VIP service from the start! The entire hotel seems to be geared to make the guests feel as relaxed as possible. Beautiful rooms and views, picture-perfect and quiet beach, great restaurants and friendly staff make this hotel a fantastic relaxation spot! Very happy with our stay here, can`t wait to go back!
“Banyan Tree Bintan”
Perfect location, easily accessible from the nearby Singapore but feels like a world away. Our villa is on the rocks overlooking the South China Sea, we could watch the sunset from the deck every evening, we could even see the skyline of Singapore 50 miles away. The Rock Edge Pool is so calm most of the time that it's almost like a flawless mirror. We enjoyed most of the restaurants (Tree Tops, Cove, Saffron), also tried in-villa dining. The Banyan Tree Spa is a heavenly experience, we could watch the bay while taking a shower. The rooms are a little bit rundown and there are a lot of insects, but overall it was a great experience. Bottom line, we will definitely go back with a bigger group of friends and family.
“Amazing Spot”
Fantastic views, service and villas!
“quiet, beautiful resort”
We had a Seaview chalet next to the rock pool and Tree House restaurant. Even so, it was quiet and private. The cottages are spacious, had high speed internet, comfortable bed and good air conditioning. The power only went out twice for short times during heavy rains. We didn't use the hot tub. All three restaurants were excellent and the wine selection good although few low cost selections were available. It is a resort in a resort area so there isn't much to do outside of usual resort activities.
“Great Service - Great Food - Great Place to Relax”
Service was amazing. Grounds are nice. Pools are beautiful. Beach is shared with another (nice but less expensive) resort. Banyan Tree is definitely high end for Bintan island- villas are wonderful. Definitely an "adult" place - would probably pick something else for small children. Food is great - expect American resort prices (most things are in USD).
“Romantic hideout for those with taste”
My partenr and I went there for a two day break. We had a jaccuci villa and we ended up spending a lot of time in the room... exploring the facilities. The restaurants are not that great and the menus are disappointing (somewhat)... otherwise, it will be a great place to be for a couple of days ... all by yourselves in the villa.
“A Great Place to Relax”
We stayed here for 2 days and had a very relaxing time. It is 15 years since I was last here and the rooms are now in need of renovation which I understand is planned in 2012. The service was generally impeccable except for room service which was generally slow. The Spa was one of the best I have been to but my wife was less impressed with the facial she received. In conclusion a great resort but very expensive when compared with others on the island. They will need to raise their game in order to maintain such a price differential.
“Banyan Tree over-rated”
This property is very tired and in need of some attention. Very expensive and definitely not a five star property. The food was also ordinary. The adjoining golf course was also in need of upkeep, very poor club house, At $150 for a round of golf, they should at least include drinking water and tees!
