“Best value for money”
The location was very convenient and quiet. Very close to MRT, Orchard Rd and shopping malls. Room was clean and very spacious. Breakfast was very good and sufficient. Will definitely stay there again.
“A pleasure to stay and a pleasure to return to”
We were a little apprehensive at staying at a YWCA but were we surprised. The room was brilliant, level 10 room 20 right at the end of the corridor, and the room size was enough to swing three cats. Although the building is aged the space and feel overcame any minor age items. The value for money compared to the hotel we stayed in on our return for 1 night made us sorry we hadn't booked the YWCA for that one night also. The breakfast buffet was great - plentiful and varied - for both Western and Asian tastes. The lodge is only about 5 minutes walk to a main MRT (train) station, a bus station and a rerasonable Shopping Plaza. Its just 2 stations to the middle of Singapore City Centre. We didn't realise when we booked that it was so conviently located. But not wanting to harp - the hotel itself was just brilliant and we cannot recommend it more highly and will definately stay the when we travel to Sigapore again.
“perfectly adequate”
1. Perfect location, a few minutes walk from a central MRT station (Dhobi Gaut). Everything of interest radiates out from here. The walk through the covered car park and the lift (four floors) saves the long flight of steps up the steep hill at the side of Park Mall. 2. Perfectly adequate breakfast, with rice and noodles, plenty of fresh fruit. 3. Evening meals adequate, choice was limited though tasty. Plaza Singapura beyond the MRT station has food hall on Level 6 with a wide variety of fantastic food freshly prepared. 4. No hotel bar. We brought duty free spirits with us, bought mixers locally to keep in the fridge. Alcohol is twice UK price. 5. Spacious mid-price Executive room, freshly decorated with a double bed, kept spotlessly clean, not boutique style - more upmarket college room. Fridge big enough to chill bottles of water. The room twice as large as one we visited in Ibis Bencoolen. There's a safe in the huge wardrobe. 6. Pleasant views of leafy Fort Canning Park nearby. Rooms on the other side would look onto Park Mall, less appealing. 7. The swimming pool is big enough to do proper lengths. Basic changing room, adequate. No jacuzzi, no poolside bar. 8. It's an interesting place, not just a hotel. Felt especially safe for women travelling solo. The quiet leafy courtyard is a bonus in a city centre location. Although it's a Christian Association, the Christian message was not intrusive.
“As a budget hotel - the best”
We liked this hotel as it is close to Orchard shops without being in the centre of Orchard Road which is an extremely busy street. Only problem is that it took us a while to figure out how to get to the hotel from the MRT station as you actually need to go through a shopping mall (Park Mall)'s car park. If you took a taxi from the airport, it would be easier.
“Best choice for tourists in Singapore”
Only 5 minutes walking from Orchard road and MRT station. Opposite to a park, can walk, can enjoy calm asmotphere. Large, traditional room. Good breakfast. Good view. The price is reasonable! It's sure that I'll stay at YWCA Fort Canning Lodge when I come to Singapore next time.

Very helpful staff, great to have the pool to cool off in. Quite a busy hotel so interesting to be able to meet people on business as well as holiday.

“Great hotel for the price”
We stayed here for 3 nights in mid June and enjoyed it. Nice to be close to a beautiful park and yet only a shortish walk to Orchard Road etc. Buffet breakfast included in the price and this was really good. Fully recommend.
“Highly recomended”
YWCA was brilliant. All you need in a hotel without the frills. Very large clean room and comfy beds. Excellent central location and 5 minutes walk from subway interchange station, right opposite Fort Canning Park. Large swimming pool too - an added bonus in Singapore's steamy heat.
“Quick stop”
We only stayed for a night on a quick stop over but it was perfect for what we needed. Close to train station & Orchard Rd. Very clean & the rooms were spacious. Breakfast was plentiful. Great for the price.
