“A great place to stay”
If there's still some old Singapore left this is it.
“Very Good”
Nice stay. Friendly hotel staff and there was a Chinese restaurant onto the hotel with friendly staff and good-priced food. Very convenient location, walking distance to Clarke Quay and other tourist areas. I would definitely stay there again.
“location makes it all, center of Chinatown”
small old building, so old rooms, but the location makes up for everything also extremely helpful staff - unless you arrive in the afternoon, together with numerous asian travellers... if you like the local flair when travelling this is the place
“Excellent location. The price is good considering it's in Singapore.”
I was happy with the Inn at Temple Street. The room was clean even though small but enough for 1 or 2 people. It was quiet although it was in the middle of the tourist shopping area. Reception was helpful. One improvement on the security of left luggage is needed. The hotel should issue a tag/receipt for left luggage and lock the room. I was left my bag at the Inn after check out in a room that wasn't locked right off the stair case. When I went there to pick up my bag later the lady at reception, whom I had never met before, told me just to go to the room and pick it up myself. No verification at all that I was the owner of the bag.
“Kiwi65+and wife+”
Great location, good service, room firly tight, bed not the best, but ok for 2-4 nights.
“Very convenient location and friendly, supportive front staffs”
In the middle of China Town with many souvenir shops, restaurants and red lantern above, you can enjoy the unique oriental ambience. Quite close to subway station, just 2 minutes walk. Staffs at the front was friendly and helpful, especially the lady. Internet was available at the entrance though charged, no Japanese typing. I selected the room+breakfast package but it's Not recommended, as you can get just a piece of toasted bread, boiled egg and a cup of coffee at shop opposit to the Inn. Room was small, no bath tub, the windows cannot be opened, but clean enough. It's recommended for those who looks for a place just to get back to sleep in the convenient location.
“Good price and location”
They're fixing it up, so it should improve, but you can't beat the price and location. Very helpful staff.
“nice hotel and good location”
The rooms and bathrooms are recently remodeled, this hotel provides an excellent value for this location. Don't go for the breakfast, it's only a cup of coffee and 2 pieces of toast for S $10.
“Excellent value for money; good location”
I stayed here on my own (female) and at no point did I feel concerned about my safety, either in the hotel or walking around during day/night. Hotel is in a great location with lots of good, cheap eateries nearby. The bedding and shower-room were clean which is the main point - you'll only be in the hotel to sleep. My bedroom was on first floor, overlooking Temple Street. It could be a bit noisy but a pair of earplugs did the job. Would definitely recommend this hotel as it's excellent value for money. As with everywhere in Singapore, start your question with a smile and you'll find people are very helpful.
“Chinatown Walk Up”
This hotel is located in a very exciting part of Singapore, and is a great value. There is no elevator, so if you have many bags it can be a problem. Staff and lobby are charming, but the rooms are small. The biggest problem was the lack in working air conditioning in the rooms, and windows that did not open. Singapore is very hot. We asked for them to be fixed, but nothing seemed to be done. More for the backpacker or independent traveler, and not at all if they don't get the air conditioning fixed. Breakfast is included, but is only two slices of toast, tea or coffee and a glass of imitation juice. Again, the cost and location are super. Shoppers paradise for chinese bargains and night markets.
