“Beautiful views of Vesuvius and Naples!”
This is a charming hotel on the windy narrow road along the Pamphili coast. We had a car, which made it easy (yet interesting!) to visit the lovely nearby towns: Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii. All highly recommend! The vies and breakfast on the veranda were amazing!
“Great place for an inexpensive and very good room”
Was a wonderful surprise - great view from the terrace - enjoy the sunsets and breakfasts. The dinner at 15 euros was wonderful - even if the choices were limited. The staff was wonderful and very helpful.

The views are wonderful, service friendly and the free shuttle service into Vico Equense for dinner etc. an invaluable service.
“Beautiful Hotel”
Beautiful location, no need for a car as local public transport is excellent and staff are happy to offer advice on getting around. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. A lovely place to return to after a days sight-seeing. Would highly recommend!Great location for Positano, Naples, Pompei and Vesuvius!
“A part of the area's paradisiac beauty”
Was pleasantly impressed by employee's and management's knowledge of English; the room balcony's view was breathtaking, cleanliness and order was undisputable, and customer service outstanding, including making you feel at home and giving proper local recommendations. Anywhere near Naples or the Sorrento peninsula, there's no question I'll be staying there again!
“Great place to stay to explore Amalfi coast”
We loved staying at Torre Barbara: I was almost six months pregnant and we were looking for a nice, comfortable and stylish place to stay where we could relax as well as explore the Amalfi coast. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The only couple of things I think people should know before booking: there is noise from the street going past directly outside the hotel and sitting on the beautiful terrace is not a noise free experience. Also refilling the breakfast buffet was a slow affair but I think that was just the person on shift that week and is hopefully not a constant issue. However none of this would stop me from giving this hotel a top rating as it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
“A beautiful tower with a great view”
This is a beautifully presented hotel. Our room was furnished in a modern style within this older building, but it worked excellently. The terrace and garden overlooking the bay and Vesuvius were very relaxing despite the presence of the main road beneath. The staff were all very helpful and most attentive, particularly to our 6 year old daughter. As others have said, having your own transport is an advantage, if you have the nerves to drive on Italian roads.
“Very satisfying stay !”
We read previous comments before leaving for Sorrento, and both my partner and I have nothing but praise and commendations for the Hotel and the staff. Yes there is a main road adjacent to Torre Barbara, and it made no difference to our stay. The staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant, considering our Italian was no where near as good as their English (how lazy are we !)We did hire a car, and it is a benefit for getting around, although the bus and train services are good. We are definately returning to Sorrento, and will be staying at Plaza Torre Barbara for sure. Highly recommendable!
“Superb hotel and friendly staff”
The rooms were very clean and spacious. We had a wonderful view of the water. The breakfast out on the patio is relaxing and memorable. I have stayed in alot of hotels in Europe and this is very fairly priced. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and has a small shuttle bus that can take you to dinner if you plan ahead. I would definitely stay here again. I am back at work now but saving my money for next year!
“Much better than expected”
Recent renovation (two years old)and a staff that is eager to please. Great views. Only downside is proximity to noisy road and small pool.
