“Convenient & economical spot for Amherst colleges”
The attendant/owner was very friendly; morning breakfast was simple but adequate and tasty (coffee, juice, bagles, milk, muffins); the room was neat and clean as well as the bathroom. We appreciated the laundromat next door. There's a nice pool, but we didn't have time to make use of it.
“Pleasantly Surprised!”
My wife and i were blown away at the cleanliness, ease of check in and helpfulness (of the staff). We thought we were booking a "dive" motel and we actually got better accomodations than the $75-more-per-night Quality Inn next door
“Good location in the area and nice features for the price.”
Great simple hotel for the price. Just going to a local college for a conference and it was convenient to Northhampton too. The frigid and microwave were good for my working weekend stay. Wireless Internet was very good and open. Great for if your traveling there for work and just need a place to sleep for with nice ammenities you'll actually use (TV, internet, microwave, frigid, and a good shower.)
“No problems”
Clean, comfortable. Room had sufficient heating system in November, although it was challenging to keept the room warm enough without it getting too warm. Breakfast (bagels, etc.) was sufficent. Would stay there again if we need a place in the area to stay.
“Good enough for passing through”
I just needed a place to crash for the night. It was nice and quiet during the night. The continental breakfast wasn't anything special but served it's purpose. The person at the front desk was nice and checking in and out was fine. The room did get a little stuffy and the heater was a bit loud. I didn't know how to turn on the TV (it was ancient!), and there was a microwave and mini-fridge, which I wasn't expecting. Good if you need a place to stay for a night or two.
“Quiet but the door lock is old-fashioned”
The hotel was small and the environment was quiet. I liked the two queen beds. The bath tub was only for showers; the faucet was already blocked for tub bath, and we were unable to hold the water in the tub. Other than that, it was good for an overnight stay. Could lower the rate.
“Very nice accomodations for a bargain price”
This property was recently added to the Knights Inn chain. Owners have obviously worked very hard to bring this former independent property up to current standards. Room had complete new bathroom, new paint, carpeting, and heat/AC unit. Room was comfortable and quiet, and staff was attentive to our needs. Modest continental breakfast available at 7:00 a.m. Location, in center of 5-college, Amherst-Northampton area, can't be beat! Abundant shopping and restaurants close by. Also just 1/2 mile from a great bike trail! Only drawback is heavy traffic on Rte.9, which can make left turns out of the parking lot problematic during rush hour.
“Good hotel - exceeded expectations”
This hotel was selected for its proximity to the U-Mass Amherst campus (under 10 minutes) and cheap rates. All staff were very helpful and the room was larger than expected; the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The television may have been the most disappointing aspect of the room, but did function. We did not check out any of the recreational areas, but for a quick trip this hotel exceeded expectations and I would return for the same trip next year.
“decent place”
Knights Inn is a decent place to stay, friendly staff and good room. Breakfast is basic - bagels, muffins, juice, tea/coffee. Location is good, very close to UMAss Amherst and to the Mall.
“Great little place!”
We were visiting family in Northamton, MA and the Knight's Inn was very conveniently located. It is a small motel, but had many amenities - room refrigerator, good shower - that we weren't expecting for the low price. Very happy with the quality of the room and the surrounding area had many restaurants.
