“Casa De Solana Excellent”

This unique B&B located in the heart of St.Augustine Old City is worth the trip. The two ladies managing this B&B are extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was delicious and consisted of home-made cakes and quiche. Historical attractions can be visited at a walking distance.

“Pleased!”

We stayed for 3 nights in, I believe, the smallest, most inexpensive room. The private bathroom was good-sized and there was also a decent closet. No complaints at all - very cozy - was everything we needed. Also, free hot breakfast daily in the attractive dining room was a nice perk. Location was spot on - in the heart of historic area and close to the water as well. Once we parked the rental car in the B&B lot that isn't too far away, we walked everywhere we went for 3 days, no problem.

“almost the Mediterranean”

This is a lovely bed and breakfast in the middle of old St. Augustine. The innkeeper is very pleasant and helpful, and the rooms are original 18th century decorum. Everything is close by - great restaurants, nice shops, historical sites, even some awesome beaches are only 8 km away. It reminded me somewhat of the Spanish Mediterranean.

“Will be going back”

This bed and breakfeast was magnificent. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. We couldn't have asked for a better location. They give you a discount on your next visit and we plan on using it.

“Lovely Spot!”

Our room was cozy with a lovely balcony. The double bed was a little small for the two of us, but is was adequate. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the afternoon wine and hors d'oeves event was a wonderful way to get to know and chat with other guests. The B&B is well situated--close to the center of town. The streets there in the old part of town are very narrow and the parking lot is 2 blocks away. However, you can drop off your luggage in the driveway and park later. So that was not a problem. We also took advantage of the "beach house" and spent a morning on St. Augustine Beach. It was helpful to have a bathroom with a shower available near the beach for guests of the B&B. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They volunteered to make dinner reservations for us after we inquired about local restaurants and they helped with our luggage. We would be happy to return in the future.

“Wonderful and convenient..”

We had such a blast at Casa de Solana. It is absolutely wonderful for a romantic getaway type weekend. Without giving too much away, it lives up to its 'paranormal' reputations... :) We had a wonderful experience there and can't wait to go back. Some things to think about... If you are accustomed to huge "hotel" rooms, this is not your place. This is a B&B and a former house built when people were much smaller in size. If you are looking for a 2000 sf penthouse, this is not it. It is very close to downtown but on the edge of it. There is 'some' noise from nearby Aviles Street, but generally its pretty peaceful.

“Very pleased with this bed and breakfast”

We had a lovely time, the innkeepers were attentive and flexible. Breakfast was great with a hot meal, and other choices. We had a private balcony, in room jacuzzi tub, very comfy bed/linens. The ability to walk wherever we needed to go was great. The courtyard made you feel like you were staying at a friends' villa in Spain.

“Old St. Augustine”

The location was close to everything we wanted to visit. The neighborhood was quiet. The facility was well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful.

St. Augustine is gorgeous at Christmas. Hotel is ideally located to historic shopping district. Breakfast much better than expected. Normal B&B fare is generally a cold meal. Hot, freshly prepared breakfast really great.

“Perfect location in the heart of St Augustine”

The B&B was delightful and right in the center of everything you want to see while in St. Augustine. The only thing I can honestly say was not superior was the quality of the breakfast and the loading/unloading area when you check in and check out. The breakfast the first day was what appeared to be premade pancakes with canned apples on the top and a quarter of a piece of sausage patty. Not what you would expect when every other detail at the Casa de Solana was so well appointed. The second morning we actually skipped breakfast and went right around the corner to the charming French bakery which was nice. The service was good, really only saw the person at check in and was on our own the rest of the time, which I certainly prefer. They offered a wine and cheese hour but we were out and about and missed it both nights. The room was beautiful, we stayed in the Confederate Room, in the morning you could hear the folks in the dining room quite loudly but we were already awake so it really was not a problem. you could hear the other neighbors at times as well but everyone was pretty well behaved so it was not a problem. The loading and unloading area is a small one spot space among very narrow roads. Unfortunately upon check in and check out someone was blocking the spot for long periods. I would certainly return to the Casa de Solana and recommend it without a doubt, just be prepared to find your own breakfast fare or enjoy theirs, just don't expect it to be homemade.
