“The best surprise ever”
This was a very last minute booking as prior plans fell through, but we couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel. It is within (very short) walking distance from all the buzz of Central West End, less than 10min walk from the hospitals and the WashU campus and very conveniently located for all sorts of transportation, if like us you don't have a car during your stay. The hotel itself is newly renovated (and it shows) with ample natural light coming in from everywhere. Our room was spacious, with an overly comfortable bed, really nice and clean bathroom and a feast of a complimentary breakfast in the morning. The lovely staff are very accommodating even with the pickiest of requests and there is a general friendly feeling about the place. It is not a value for money place, it is an excellent hotel with really reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend it to everyone!
“Great Experience”
We loved the updated decor of our room and the hotel in general. We also were thrilled that it was so close to the Fox Theater and other Theater venues in the area. We plan to stay there again on our next trip to the theater is St. Louis!!
“Clean & comfortable place to sleep”
Overall a great experience. The room and bathroom were clean. Modern conveniences include free wifi and a Keurig machine. The parking was free, which isn't always the case in this part of the city. However, the parking area above ground near the entrances were limited. When we returned to the hotel at 1AM the lot was full and we had no choice but to use their "garage" underground. After sitting in the car for a few minutes trying to figure out how to actually get into the garage, we finally noticed a small black box for scanning our room key. This worked to open the gate. There were no signs nor were we given any heads-up with these instructions. Once making it underground we found a very small garage with only a dozen or so spaces, many of which were taken. The hall carpet could use replacing, but the rooms appear to be fairly recently updated with hard floors and new furniture. The bathrooms also appear updated, although the stand-up shower was a bit claustrophobic. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting this part of town for an inexpensive, comfortable place to sleep. If you require a pool or an on-site bar or restaurant, you may want to look elsewhere.
“Business Stay”
Clean comfy stayed twice on two different trips, would stay again if there again.
“Updated but a little dirty”
I stayed at this hotel mainly for the cheap price. It was a little far from downtown for my taste. I should have paid $30 more to stay at a nicer location closer to the stadium and arch. The room was nicely decorated but the bathroom and sheets had hair everywhere...not mine. This hotel would do in a pinch. The staff was very nice.
“Overpriced for the accomadations”
this is an OK hotel at a "pleasing" hotel price. Had I only spent $80 I would have been satisfied. It was not worth the money. The bathrooms were odd and way to small. Room had no refrigerator or microwave. These are almost standard in even a flea bag hotel.
“Stay near Wash. U.”
It is ok during staying at Comfort Inn
“in town for college graduatio”
We loved this place when it was the Hotel Indigo, but it has definitely gone downhill as the Comfort Inn. Only one elevator was working, and the air conditioner in our room was broken (during a 90 degree stay). Our room was not that clean. The hotel had a neglected look to it. On the plus side, it has a very nice courtyard. Having complimentary breakfast is also a wonderful convenience. The hotel is in a good area for restaurants and is very close to Wash U.
“Very strange”
What a very strange little hotel! Stress 'little'. The room was a bit small, but the bathroom was astonishingly tiny. When using the bathroom, I felt like I was in a cheerful bright lime green coffin. Mismatched furnishings everywhere, but incredibly comfortable beds in a bright mango painted room. The decorator must have been blind. One of two elevators was out of service. Hotel staff, who were very friendly, reports this has been the case as long as they have been there. There was no bar or restaurant service or room service for that matter. There is a cooler case of nasty third rate sandwiches with NO condiments of any kind. There was no coffee in the morning despite the staff having plenty of time to brew it. Key cards failed repeatedly, locking us out. The trek from our room in the back to the desk is not for the faint of heart, especially five times to get the door unlocked. The glassware was not clean. The hallway was filthy. Deferred maintenance abounded. Light bulbs were burned out, poor drainage in the tiny shower, poorly laid tile, torn up carpet, and a funky smell topped off this strange experience.
“Not Impressed”
The location is great. However, there were no cups with the coffee pot. Conditioner and lotion but no shampoo. Very small beds.
