“Slow check-in”
A great place to stay.
“Perfect spot for our anniversary - Top of the line experience.”
I and my wife are avid travellers and have seen a lot of places (cities and countries alike). I must say that this has been the best so far. I normally prefer contemporary style of hotels and this one hit the sweet spot. Windjammer is one of the top resorts in St. Lucia, the rooms are well appointed and the staff is very friendly. Both of us are vegetarians and we had decent options in every restaurant in the resort - and the taste very unique. We landed at the airport and rented a car (in the airport - 350USD excluding fuel). The drive to Castries is about 45 minutes and I was pleasantly suprised by the scenic beauty along the drive. There is one major highway that loops around the island and is easy to drive on (if you are from US then you may have to adjust to the left side driving). The resort has plenty of parking spots and there is NO fee to park. There are two cities close to the resort, Castries and Rodney Bay. Rodney bay has a lot of restaurants, a mall and a huge grocery store. Castries is more of a commercial city where the locals shop - good shopping area nevertheless. The second day, we booked passes (100 USD per person which includes a shuttle ride to and fro) to the Rain Forest adventures for ziplining. The next day we drove down to the pitons and the sulphur springs. The view of the two magnificent pitons was breathtaking and worth the 45 minute drive from windjammer. All in all, we had a perfect leather anniversary. I would highly recommend this place.
“Beautiful place.”
Windjammer is located in a very scenic location. I love the layout of the resort. There is a lot of privacy, if that's what you are after, a people person would have a lot to enjoy as well. Having said that, I would recommend it as for a honeymoon or a terrific place for the entire family.
“Best family resort stayed at”
Fantastic
“Great place to experience the Caribbean”
My wife and I stayed at the Windjammer on our 1 year anniversary. Even though the hotel was under new construction it didn't affect our stay at all. We enjoyed our view of the Caribbean from our Balcony. The resort offered so many things to do that we really didn't have to leave to stay busy. The resort had several different restaurants to eat at, which they were all great we thought. The only two things we didn't like were one the mosquitoes in our opened aired villa, and two groceries were very expensive at the resort. The friendliness of the staff was unbelievable. It was a great place to stay.
“Birds & bugs”
Open areas of villas have no control over bugs & birds which were bothersome at times. Should have screens, other than that we enjoyed.
“Loved our time at Windjammer and”
The accomodation was excellent, high well appointed hillside villa with fantastic ocean view. Tropical landscaping very attractive, Very attentive facility staff. Food in several hotel onsite restaurants good, albeit expensive. Hotel grocery well enough stocked for do it your self in-room cooking. Pool, decks and beach site clean, well maintained. Day trip to snorkel a big waste of time...reefs are highly over-rated in fact a dismal joke by most caribbean snorkel/SCUBA standards & lunch included was not worth it; while the boat ride to get there was pleasant enough.
“We will definitely go back.”
The villas and resort were both amazing. The people were also very helpful. It was definitely paradise.
“Just as fantastic on the third trip as the first.!”
This was our third trip to Windjammer and we enjoyed every bit as much except the time of year we travelled let us down this trip, normally we travel in Jan/Feb but due to school commitments we went in Oct,we certainly got a bit of a shock as to how many mosquitos are about this time of year, I do expect a few bites liberally applied anything anti mosi I could buy, but my son ended up looking like he had chicken pox due to the villa being open and the pool being not more than 4ft away from the main living area, that aside the hotel staff (especially Natasha)were great ang moved us to a enclosed villa, things looked up from there.I will go back as we love the villas, staff and food and it's great for small kids as you have your own space.
