“Relaxing place”
great place to kick back and relax...would stay there again
“Quiet Location with Local flavor away from crowds!”
There are all kinds of travelers out there, and always places to meet your expectations. We are independent, explorers who relish in the diversity of our locations, enjoy local flavor (culture, feel, as well as food), quiet, and a homey feel. This was our 2nd stay at the Summit. We LOVE it here - quiet, small, unpretencious. Arriving at the very start of the high season, sprucing up was happening & transformations daily. Could not ask for nicer folks to welcome and assist you during your stay. This is an older "resort", and although the website advertises expanded ammenities - travelors should check before booking to ensure their expectations are met. Again, if you are an adventurer who also seeks local flavor & few crowds...this is your place.
“Only Place I'd Stay in St. Maarten”
Warm, friendly atmosphere. I felt as if I were at home with family. Beautiful grounds with a real feel of a resort but also of a safe, secure neighborhood.
“Great Stay”
The hotel is very complete, the room was nice and very comfortable. Service was excellent and staff were helpful. The beach close by is beautiful and not full of people. Supermarket close by as well in a very nice area.
“Best vacation ever, friendliest staff ever”
Beautiful views. Easy walk to beaches. Staff extremely friendly.
“Hidden teasure”
Close to everything but hidden away.Great views.Friendly service go for the deluxe room, As they are remodeled.Quiet Perfect for what we were looking for
“QUIET RESTFUL RETREAT”
A PLACE TO RELAX UNWIND AND ENJOY MASSIVE SCENERY
“Summit”
The hotel was nice, we were there in "Low Season" (September) and it was basically empty. But this meant we had the pool to ourselves all the time! The view from the patio / pool area is great and the people were even better. Highly recomended!
“Nice relaxing resort”
We were looking for a nice quiet resort to stay at and the Summit met our expectations. Resort is off the main road so there is no traffic noise. In fact, there is little noise at all, except for other guests and the leaves russling in the breeze. Rooms are in 1 or 2 story cottages with a large glass door facing a tremendous view of Simpson Bay. Rooms were large and had a nice kitchen which allowed storage of cold items and preparation of snacks. Pool area was nice, but we opted for Cupecoy or Mullet Beach, both within a 1/4 mile. The beach, a casino and a small open restaurant were within walking distance. Staff was friendly and usually was helpful. There have been previous problems with roaming cats on the property. This has been resolved and while there were cats around, they didn't bother anyone. Some were friendly enough to play with. Internet Access was poor. I never got the WiFi to work. I was able to use the guest computer in the office, but hours and availability was limited. And as everyone in St. Maarten knows, Internet access comes and goes! If you are looking for a swanky resort with entertainment and night life, this isn't it. But if you like the quiet laid back style of the Carribean, the Summit Resort was very well suited.
“Great Budget Hotel in St. Maarten”
I was just looking around for a laid back type of hotel, where you, the guest, feels almost like a local. I think Summit Resort did it for me. Because of it's relatively small-to-mid size, you end up not feeling lost in a sea of fellow guests. The staff were willing to help wherever they can, and give you as much space/alone time as needed. Another key point is the view from the pool, you are able to see Simpson Bay Lagoon and in a distance, the beautiful Caribbean Sea with some boats, etc. Quiet - you even forget about how close you are to the airport. Best kept secret aspect of course is the Kissing Fish Bar, a truly relaxing and friendly atmosphere there with the help of its owners and lesser extent other guests...be sure to take a moment to eat/drink there.
