"We chose the Cimarron because of the quality, cleanliness and service the property is known for. Friday before check in, a family we're with received a call their room needed to be changed due to flooding. They were offered 2 king rooms, they declined because they're traveling with kids, so they stayed in the President's Suite. At no point was I contacted that there was an issue, so I assumed our room was not affected. Upon checking in, Brandon (manager) told me of the flooding, that no rooms were available, so my family was moved to another hotel in town. The Cimarron would refund my Expedia purchase and cover the cost of our stay at the other property.
I was really taken back by this, because it not only does the lack of contact not live up to the service we expected from the Cimarron, but also because I knew there were at least two (2) king rooms available not even an hour earlier that our family members declined. I asked about this and was told because I was not a rewards member and booked through Expedia, my reservation was not a priority and was moved to the bottom of the list.
