Property Amenities
Hotel Birger Jarl is a four star hotel centrally located at Tulegatan, just a stone’s throw from the pulsing throb of the city, with its stores, offices and restaurants. 235 hotel rooms and suites, all in contemporary design. Breakfast room, restaurant and a lobby bar. Business centre, a small gym and heated garage in the same building.
All rooms and public areas are non-smoking and have access to free wireless internet.
Themed exhibitions are created in the lobby several times each year, such as the annual Christmas exhibition, with trees decorated by specially selected Swedish design personalities. Several of the hotel’s designer rooms ar set in to music, specially composed for the hotel and available on the “Ms Dottie” CD.

Rooms
The modern rooms are furnished in different styles by several interior architects and designers. All rooms are equipped with complimentary wireless internet, telephone, tv, safe, hairdryer and shower or bathtub. The superior rooms are extra equipped with bathrobe and slippers, extra bathroom accessories, ironing facilities, tea- and coffee making facilities and mini fridge with free non-alcoholic beverages. All the rooms are non smoking.

In the breakfast room you can enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning. In the restaurant you can eat dinner in peace after a hectic day. Lunch is served Monday to Friday. You can always order a lighter meal as well as coffee, beer, wine and drinks of all kinds.

“Great location and excellent value”
Pefect for exploring the city - you can walk everywhere from the hotel. Safe and quiet location, with food and drink nearby. Great breakfast.
“Excellent quiet hotel conveniently situated”
A very quiet hotel with no traffic noise, conveniently situated for the city centre and the University/Research Park. Service was excellent very easy going and efficient. The room was extremely comfortable in an Ikea sort of way and nice and cool. Only fault was the lack of a functioning plug in the sink (very Ikea). A good choice of food at breakfast with plenty of prepared fresh fruit. .
“Excellent choice in Stockholm”
We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Hotel Birger Jarl. It was our best hotel choice in Scandinavia. The location isn't the most central, but it is an easy 10 minute walk to the Old Town area. Our rooms were small as are most in Scandinavia, but they were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with everything you could possibly want. The front desk staff is pleasant and helpful.
“Best breakfast ever”
We stayed in the Birger Jarl for four days and found both the staff and facilities excellent. Although located away from the tourist areas the bus is less than a block and the subway is three blocks. With them you can go anywhere in minutes.The breakfast buffet was the best I have had for variety and quality.
“A treasure in Stockholm”
We arrived at noon and they have our room ready! However, I need to remind the reception that the room I booked is Superior Twin and a change was quickly made. The room design fit our purpose since we do not plan to spend too much time there. Great idea to use different colours to section off the sitting area, bedroom etc. Love the heated towel rank but we wonder about the drainage system from the bath tub? Breakfast is included in the room rate. A wide spread of cereals, bread, cold cuts, cheese as well as warm food. Location of hotel is great i.e. 3mins walk to bus/tram stop and I would advise not to take the train/metro. Nearby a street or two away there is a supermarket and many restaurants. Can walk to Old Town where the Royal Palace is with a leisurely stroll of 30mins whilst browsing around the shops. The hotel is next to a police station too – talk about security!
“Terrific place to stay in Stockholm.”
A very attractive property in a nice neighborhood, conveniently located for using the subway. Desk staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Very nice breakfast buffet. Food was good and there was considerable variety. Room was very attractive and comfortable. If it is warm when you arrive, be sure to ask for a fan.
“Excellent hotel in Stockholm”
We had a fantastic stay at the Birger Jarl.It was in a quiet location yet only a few minutes walk to lots of shops and restaurants. The fitness room was small but adequate and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast was very good although it always seemed a little chaotic!! Would definately go back if ever in Stockholm.

“Thank you for a lovely stay”
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms have recently been refurbished and are just as you would expect for a Swedish hotel - modern, trendy and functional. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to ensure that guests had no trouble getting around the current reburbishment of the lobby area. The hotel is also in a great location, within walking distance to many restaurants and shops, and to the waterfront. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will definately be back the next time we visit Stockholm!
