Opened in 1868 as The Blackburn House, a country resort for New Yorkers, the hotel was rebuilt in 1929. It retains its brick-Tudor styling, including wide hallways with coved ceilings, chair rails, and moldings. The hotel, in the Newark Liberty International Airport area, is 2 blocks from downtown Summit. Manhattan is 22 miles away.

“nice lodging”

“When Im in the area I will stay at the grand summit hotel”
I have stayed at the grand summit hotel in the past. It's the only hotel in the area. However it's a multistar hotel and it's a fine place to stay. It has all the amenities and ambiance.

The GRand Summit is a lovely, historic hotel. THe rooms are small but very comfortable with all amenities. The location is convenient and the town an easy walk.

It is in a beautiful area, and the hotel staff was wonderful. The complimentry breakfast was very good, I would recommend this place for business or leisure.

“Wonderful hotel”
I'm very impressed with this hotel. The only fault I can find is that the pillows could have been more comfortable. All pillows were very firm with no give at all. Mattress was delightful though.
“A Charming New England Getaway”
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The room had nice homey finishings and the hotel beautifully landscaped and set in a small town. Delightful! All this --- and just a short 50 minutes train ride into Manhattan. Very inexpensive and great value for money. We'd recommend it highly for business or for a quiet getaway.

The hotel location is very easy when commuting to and from new york city. summit is a very quiet and relaxing town.

This was a very nice hotel, Room was very clean and comfortable. A quiet hotel, with a great breakfast included. Bar is nice as well. Would stay there again.
