“Great Stay”
Friendly staff, great location, clean hotel and breakfast buffet each morning was delicious.
“The riviera hotel in Taipai”
A good family hotel. Every thing was great to stay about 3 days with 8 people with 2 kids. One room has a micro range and big refrigerator. But if you consider to take a subway, pls.keep in mide that subway station is not very close about 5~10 mins away from hotel on foot. But, if you want to take a taxi, never mind. No noise, Clean, also breakfirst was also great than I expected. the staff is also very well in English. thank you, anyway
“Great hotel in the business part of Taipei.”
I booked this hotel because of the price and location. I don't know the area but I guess I left it to a familiar hotel name. First off the hotel staff were very kind and made things very easy for me. They speak good english so I was happy about that. They took care of everything from the transportation to meals. There are many small stores near by to buy small items and food. My only complaint is the thin walls. You can hear every conversation, door close and loud footsteps. Its nice but I prefer a little more sound proofing. Its kept up pretty well for an aged building. Now that I know the area better I would try to book a hotel a little more south into Taipei. Great price, I would recommend this hotel for travellers.
“Great place to stay”
This is a small hotel, 7 floors very nice, clean. The staff are extremely helpful, any questions about day trips, shopping etc were answered very quickly. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The western buffet breakfast was awesome, it was a great way to start the day. Only a 10 min walk to the MRT, a great way to get around and very affordable. Highly recommend this place, would stay there again.
“Nice place, plan to stay here again.”
This was my first trip to Taipei and I really didn't know what to expect in accommodations. Thankfully, the Riviera was a pleasant surprise, and I will be staying there again on my next trip to Taiwan. My room was immaculate, cleaner than any hospital I've been in, and the staff were very helpful, while being unobtrusive. Best of all, it's very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the city. The restaurant wasn't the best, but breakfast was adequate and it's inexpensive (compared to what you pay in a Stateside hotel restaurant anyway). The only other possible drawback is that it's about a 20 minute cab ride from the International Convention Center and Taipei 101, but cabs are easy to get, the ride only costs $7-$8, and it gives you a chance to see the city. I highly recommend the Riveria if you need a place to stay in Taipei.
“Really enjoyable stay”
My wife and I stayed there with my parents during a 5 day trip to Taipei. We got the king-size bed room and my folks got the two full-size bed rooms and both were very clean and well furnished. It was also very quiet and the free internet was a nice bonus, as were the HBO and Cinemax movie channels. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. The free breakfast buffet was good, with something for Asian and western tastes. We would definitely stay there again.
“Enjoyable stay at Riviera Hotel Taipei”
We stayed at Riviera Hotel with our 5 year old daughter for 4 nights and 5 days. It was our first trip to Taipei, and we were returning to the United States from a 3 week trip to Korea, so we had a lot of luggage, the suite was nice, but we ended up not really using the extra room. The hotel seemed to cater to business travelers from Europe, but it met our needs just fine. The front desk and bell staff were all extremely attentive and kind. The breakfast buffet was very good and had a good variety of foods, breads, fruits, cereals, with a chef to cook eggs to order. The staff at the restaurant were equally attentive and kind. Each morning, the staff always inquired about our plans as we left the hotel, and they did their best to help us get to where we wanted to go. The MRT station was not such a far walk, even with a 5 year old, and a bus stop was even closer. On the last day, with a couple of hours to spend before heading to the airport, the front desk staff directed us to a very nice park (the Tienmu Sports Park) for our daughter to play at -- because the Taipei Municipal Children's Recreation Center (which is close to the hotel) was closed due to construction for the 2010 World Flora Expo. The hotel rooms were nice and the cleaning staff always did a good job while we were out. From our room, we had a nice view that included the impressive Grand Hotel.
“Safe area within walking distance to mini night market”
The hotel is walking distance to the Museum of Fine Arts (must see). The MRT is about 15 min. walk to either station. Very ease to use once you learn how (self-explanatory in English). I took the MRT everywhere (inexpensive), even to the big Shillen night market. Took taxis back if I was loaded down with goods. Loved the massage parlors near the hotel. As a single woman, I felt safe everywhere I went. Maybe being Asian helps me blend in. Was disappointed that the hotel no longer offers free breakfast buffets, but there's a coffee/tea pot in the room, and free coffee and cookies in the lobby by 6am. Loved the free Internet which was hardly being used. Hotel personnel very friendly and speak English. The front desk folks help you with your tour reservations and recommend whatever you ask for.
“A gem!”
We had two short stays at the Riviera. The first coincided with a wedding celebration at the hotel but as we were jetlagged anyway we didn't feel like exploring. On our return trip we had more time to look around. This is a really lovely hotel. Check out the gym and garden on the 7th floor. The food was lovely and well presented and the staff could not have been more helpful. Would definately recommend this hotel and return next time we are in Taipei.
“Riviera Hotel is an elegant experience!”
Beautiful hotel! Room is beautifully decorated, very clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet (worth 5 stars) in elegant dining room Two computers available with free internet. Invited to stay many hours past checkout time in our room because of a late flight out of Taipei.
