This hotel is big. This is one of the three (or four) hotels situated right next to each other and it may be difficult to check into the right one. One of the adjacent/connected hotels (not this one) has a nice Japanese garden and the guests to this hotel can stroll through. The rooms are large (comparable to those in the US). The hotel is relatively close to the JR Shinagawa station. Shinagwa may not be the most exciting area in Tokyo but you can take subways/trains easily.

A 3minute walk from Shinagawa StationPosted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Spacious - Roomy- the balcony outside the room with lots of greenery.
Cons: The furniture has become a little old and tacky.
Location: Good restaurants near by, French/ Steak house/TGIF/Nice Wine place/ convenient shopping at Shinagawa.
Very prompt house keeping staff.

Our Favorite in ShinagawaPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a quiet setting.
Cons: Everything is fine. Would be nice to have breakfast included.
Location: The shuttle, which runs frequently, takes you to the station where you can totally go anywhere in Tokyo.
The shuttle makes frequent runs from the station to the hotel. This beautiful hotel is our favorite. The staff is efficient and friendly. Rooms are elegant with a balcony. There are several nice shops in the lobby and also a Seven Eleven where you can purchase little items, snacks and meals to go. We always chose to stay here when we are in Shinagawa.

Great location, clean rooms, excellent staffPosted Jul 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel is in a great location, about a 10min walk from the train station at Shinagawa which is only about 10 minutes away on the train from Tokyo Station. Hotel is a little dated BUT its clean & staff are very helpful and friendly! The gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful and peaceful, great for a stroll. We got a great deal and stayed in the Club Double Room which was clean, comfy and huge! Yes, not all rooms in Japan are small as so demonstrated here at the GPNT. Staying on the Club Floor meant we could access the Club Lounge so we got breakfast in the morning and snacks and drinks (juice, soft drink, beer etc) from there all day long. The lady in charge of the Club Lounge was extra helpful - she found me a 2 prong adaptor as outlets were 2 pronged. Room had free wired internet and wifi was only accessible in the lobby which was nice to sit to people watch. Bathroom was big and clean, shower was hot & had good pressure (which is important to me). We caught the train to Haneda International Airport from here which was quick, cheap and easy to do so there is no need to take a shuttle bus or taxi there. We would recommend to others to stay here as its lovely and great value for money. Word of advice - take a taxi from the train station as the hotel is up a hill and its a trek when you have luggage. Taxi is only about $7 (and make sure you specify The Grand Prince New Takanawa as there are 4 Prince Hotels next to each other)

Review of stayPosted Jul 8, 2013
Very functional and clean hotel. Great Location which in Tokyo is always a boon - close to the Metro. Staff was polite and very helpful -- whether it meant recommending restaurants or writing down instructions for a Chemist. Breakfast was good but a bit standard with not too much variations from one day to the next.

family stay in TokyoPosted Jul 5, 2013
Pros: the location to the main train station
Cons: would like free Wi-Fi in the room
Location: great value for the money given it's right on the main train station
perfect location, my wife and two adult children spent three nights at the hotel when we arrived to Tokyo. we then proceeded to go to Hiroshima and Kyoto, then because we liked the hotel enough, we booked our final three nights back at this hotel. the reason? the location was superb, right by the main train station. enough of a restaurant selection around and the hotel facilities were good enough. the continental breakfast was reasonable value for the money and the lobby free Wi-Fi was good enough. we had a/c problems in the room, they offered to move us, but we opted not to because our kids were in the room next to us. they could of taken a look at the a/c but did not. Guest relations staff, with the exception of one very miserable man, was excellent and very helpful. the room itself was perfectly fine. we opted for the "environmentally friendly" credit you get, but you best tell them everyday at the front desk as they are not so good at giving this out.

Size is not always everything.Posted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Balcony and view of Tokyo skyline
Cons: Long walk to room.
Location: 5 minutes from Shinagawa
Huge hotel just up the hill opposite Shinagawa. Almost too big to ever be able to give a personal touch - took minutes to walk across the lobby. Room was upgraded - very large room (for Japan) with outside balcony. Transfer from airport dropped off directly at the hotel, may have been a little difficult to find without that, though it's a relatively easy 5 minute walk up the hill opposite the station once you know where you are going.
