“Absalon's stay in Akasaka”
The hotel is conveniently located to the Akasaka subway station and a quick 15 minute taxi ride to the Tokyo Train Station. Akasaka is a pleasant and safe area first timers to Tokyo, Japan. There are many convenience stores, restaurants, parks and other amenities for all to enjoy within a few minutes walk. The staff of the hotel are multilingual and very pleasant and professional. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Like most Japanese hotels/motels. I would definitely stay there again for my next return trip to Japan. Tanno-shikatta!
“Decent Hotel”
A great hotel conveniently located next to the Chiyoda Line (Akasaka station). The only issue (as with many Japanese hotel rooms), is the lack of space for your suitcase and belongings.
“Small, but a great base while in Tokyo”
A short walk from many of the big sites, in a quieter neighborhood with lots of options to eat, Hotel Grand Fresa Akasaka is a great place for a first time traveler to Tokyo, or a business traveler. They automatically offered to put me in a non-smoking room when I had mistakenly booked a smoking room, and the calm staff were a welcome relief after 18+hrs of travel. The rooms are tiny, but perfectly equipped. High (and I mean HIGH) speed interest. TV. Air conditioning. A fantastic bathroom. And a bed, that while firm, will without a doubt give you a great night's sleep. The electronics for the toilet, lighting, and room are very straightforward, and are a good introduction to the tech advanced features of Japan. There are a couple of downsides. It should be noted that the rooms aren't just small in terms of square footage - there isn't a ton of ceiling space. Enough for a 5'7 person to manage without a problem though. The bed I got was a full, so a large amount of room for one person. The pillows aren't super comfy, but stacked on top of each other, they are great. And it can be hard to find space to put your luggage. Even with my carryon, it was a little awkward. All in all, I would stay here again. Use exit 7 of the Akasaka metro station for easy exit to the hotel.
“Asakasa”
The hotel is basically new. It was previously a Japanese 'business hotel' that was re-modeled into a 'boutique hotel'. The rooms are small but well laid out and since it re-opened in late December 2011, everything is shiny and new! I was very pleased to find that the hotel splurged on their beds - it was awesome! The staff was friendly and helpful but there was some problems communicating with the day staff. My only "complaint" was that the hotel was a little inconvenient to Tokyo station. The problem was that there was a long walk (1000 feet or so) between the Marunouchi line in the Kasumigaseki station and Chiyoda line. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good value in a Tokyo hotel.
“Great location/quiet place of the city”
Excellent hotel/ small rooms but confortable for one people. Japanese people are very kind/ really enjoy this city/ hospitality and kindness everyday// was my second time in this hotel and had the same good experience. The location is great You have Aksaka Metro station Chiyoda line !!
“Convenient hotel”
This is an excellent hotel! The rooms are like new, rather small, but equipped with everything needed (refrigerator, teamaker, ironing/press board, ...). Bathroom was rather large actually! The hotel is just steps away from Akasaka Metro station (exit 6/7), VERY convenient. There's a small convenience store just across the street and a couple of eateries around. Hotel staff was VERY friendly and super helpful. Internet connection is sufficient for email and web, just don't try transferring large files, it's way too slow for that. I definitely recommend this hotel for a Tokyo trip if you are looking for a convenient, clean place to sleep.
“good clean hotel”
rooms were very clean and modern. The room was small but it was fine. The hotel was near the metro so if we had been out all day and tired we used the exit with the moving stairs. Lots of restaurants and supermarket close by - but not far from most places on the underground.
“A great little hotel.”
A very nice, very handy and very clean hotel. Equipped with everything one could wish for, and if one does not mind the small rooms (after all it is in Tokyo), it would be difficult to find a better one.
“Small room but great for the price”
Former business hotel convertedinto boutique looking. Small room but that is common in all affordable Tokyo Hotels. Very clean, right next to Akasaka station, very near Roppongi.
“Great price, great location, impressive hotel”
We stayed at the Grand Chisun Akasaka for 2 nights. The rooms were small but that is space in Japan but the bathroom was large by comparison. The hotel staff are very friendly & helpful. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough as it is one of the nicest we have stayed in. There is free bottle water in the fridge in the room that is replenished daily and free internet connection in your room which is handy. We came from the airport so we took the Narita Express and then the metro - take the Marunouchi Line to Kokkai-gijidomae, change to the Chiyoda Line for Akasaka station. Then take exit 6 (not 7 as the hotel suggests) as it has an upriding escalator - turn left at street level and the hotel is about 50m away. Otherwise its probably a 1000 yen or so cab ride from the train station.
