“Awesome place to stay!!!”
This was my first time in Japan. I travel all over the world and have stayed in many 5 star hotels. This hotel was extremely clean, the staff was friendly and spoke english. They hotel is very close to the train which made our travels around Tokyo very easy. I would stay at this hotel the next time I am in Japan.
“Metropolitan Ikebukuro”
Better than a typical business hotel, not a luxury or extravagant hotel, so in between standard and luxury but with luxury trimmings. Well worth staying in. Very easy to get to and from the station, and close to but far enough away from the busy streets for a nice night's sleep.
“Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo is one of the best Hotel to stay in Tokyo!”
- Best Hotel to stay - Staff members are extremely helpful - Hotel has almost everything you need there - 7 Eleven, AM/PM Store, Lawson, Mc. Donald's, Kinko's, Starbuck Coffer, and many other convenient/or food stores are all around the Ikekuburo Train Station. - Hotel is only about 5-7 min walk to/or from one of the "main" Subway/Train Station in Tokyo.
“Will certainly be going back”
From arrival to departure, the Metropolitan was a very pleasant experience. There are many restaurants and pubs nearby and the Metro is a very short walk. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was much bigger than what I was expecting and the bathroom was very good - size, hot water pressure. If you rea coming from Narita airport the bus service - the Airport Limousine - stops at the Metropolitan hotel. Door to door service - as fast as a taxi - at much less cost. If you are lookking for a very comfortable and excellenlty located hotel, I highly recommend the Metropolitan.
“Great Experience”
Our experience at the Hotel Metropolitan was excellent. The staff was courteous and helpful, the lobby and shops were well maintained and inviting, and our room was clean and orderly. We had a great view of downtown Tokyo from our room and enjoyed watching the sun come up over the skyline each morning. The hotel is in a great location, about a block from the train station and close to shops and restaurants. If we ever make our way back to Japan, we wouldn't hesitate staying here again.
“Small Rooms”
The room was small, but the hotel staff was excellent. Excellent service, nice hotel, perfect location. It's a couple of blocks from Ikebokuru train station making it ideal to get around. Very satisfied overall...
“Great Hotel at Ikebokuro”
I went to this hotel for only 2 nights. however, i think this hotel offered the best service comparing to other hotels i stayed at Tokyo.
“A different Type of Experience”
I unfortunately fell over in on the street outside the hotel before check in and inadverertently broke a bone in my foot. The care and attention provided by all of the staff was amazing. The duty manager sent the bell captain with us to the clinic to translate for us as she was concerned that we would be at a disadvantage. They offered to cover the clinic fees and taxi costs until we could get to a bank as the accident occured before we had a chance to obtain enough local currency. The hotel provided a wheelchair for our use for the time that we were staying with them and offered to research and provide for any other needs that we had. The hotel itself is very comfortable and clean although it is located some distance from Tokyo Central. It is however very near to IKEBUKURU Station though and the shops in the area are very good. We unfortunately were unable to see much of Japan because of the accident but still enjoyed our time in Japan. The only thing that I would say is that the only English programs that are on the television are CNN and BBC news. It was probably more noticeable for us because we had to spend more time than usual in the room. Overall an exxcellant stay at this property, definate value for money and we wouldnt hesitate going back when I have 2 working feet! Pleae note though, the pool and health club are available at a chrge, not for free for guests staying here as their adds imply.
“Great location!”
Perfect location. It is not even 5 minutes from the Ikebukuro station, you could not ask it to be closer. It is a big station with both subway and train lines, so it’s perfect no matter where you want to go. It has a bunch of commercial areas around, and dining options (including McDonalds if you or your kids care for that). The hotel itself is nicer than what I initially thought. It does have a great first floor and it also has Japanese restaurants (the “real” thing with wiatresses in kimonos and japanese menus (a bunch of little dishes coming one after the other - A great experience!!) The room was not big, but after reading a lot about how small the rooms are in Tokyo, I thought it was pretty good. No problem at all going around in the subway and train in Tokyo, everything is in English also, so you’re fine. The front desk staff was very helpful and told us which lines to take to wherever we wanted to go (there is a bunch of options sometimes!!).
“My Second Stay Here”
I have stayed here twice in the past seven months. I like the location in relation to the train station - up the escalator and down the block. Ikebukuro is just a few stops on the JR line from the other more popular areas. It is quiet here and the Tobu department store is wonderful. The hotel is quiet, clean, and while the area nearby with the clubs is somewhat gaudy, I felt safe at all times. My 20 year old son on the first night of his maiden overseas trip, met locals and foreigners at a pub a block away and spent his first night on his own without worries. The rooms are a bit small, but how much time do you spend there? Toto bidets in the bathroom - nice... The bathtubs are high walled for soaking... The public areas are clean and well appointed. I have taken both of my grown children to Japan and we have used this for our stays both times... I would come back again...
