“Excellent budget hotel close to Shinjuku station”
The Hotel Rose Garden is a budget hotel and therefore has very small rooms - but this is quite normal for central Tokyo. This is the only reason that I gave the "comfort of your room" a 4 instead of a 5. Otherwise, I found it an excellent choice of hotel for travellers or business people who are going to be out of the room most of the day. The hotel lobby, and the rest of the hotel, are very modern and comfortable and above average for this class of hotel. The hotel is 5-10 min walk from the west exit of Shinjuku station. The Nishi-Shinjuku station of the Marunouchi subway line (one-stop away from Shinjuku station) is right next door to the hotel. When arriving or departing the hotel with luggage it's worth taking the subway one-stop to Shinjuku station, rather than walking.I did not eat in the hotel.
“Staying in the 4 bed room”
Great Hotel and Great location. Very easy to find. Friendly and helpful staff. We were in a 4 bed room with our children. It was a little cosy but perfectly adequate and comfortable.
“Rose Garden Shinjuku - My new Home.”
This was my wife and my first visit to Japan. After lots of review surfing, we settled on The Rose Garden. Finding it the first night was tricky, but once you know where you are, it is only about a 10 min walk to the JR station. Great location - lots of restaurants and shops within an easy walk. Not smack in the middle of all the hustle bustle of Shinjuku, but just close enough. Great staff -friendly and they really try hard to help you. Rooms are on the petite side, but an overall great value. I'll be back.
“Nothing exceptional but good location and clean”
The hotel was clean and well located. It was walking distance to Shinjuku and the Nishi Shinjuku stop on the Maronouchi Line was just outside. The hotel was nothing special and teh room was compact as expected. There were only Japanese channels on the TV. There was free LAN connection but no WIFI. This is not a hotel that I would use for a special occasion but in terms of somewhere that is practical and good value I would return again.
“Best Nishi-Shinjuku Hotel”
I very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Rose Garden. It was small enough not to be lost in endless hallways, multiple floors and a huge staff. The rooms were very clean and they provided robes and slippers and a number of other amenities that you did not think would come with a room for such a great price. The location of the hotel is about a half mile from the Shinjuku station, so you make a good walk to get to the central area, but it also stays quiet at night for the most part. It borders on a really nice area of the city. The proximity to Shinjuku station is perfect because you can get ANY connecting line at that place and if you just vacation in Shinjuku station itself it is a microcosm for the entire city. We very much enjoyed our stay and would go back again.
“Highest Recommendation”
Two points about hotels in Japan: 1) they're ALL small, even if you pay big bucks, and 2) they're all extremely clean. So when looking for a room two things come up: location and cost. Rose Garden is about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the large Shinjuku station, but it's less than a minute from a connecting subway line. In many ways, this is even more convenient than being near the big station because odds are you'll have to change trains from Shinjuku at some point anyway, but it's still very close and there's less bustle. Rooms are reasonable priced, clean, with good AC, larger bathrooms than usual, and though small, a little larger than one would expect in Japan. Plus, according to their staff it's a family-owned non-chain spot. Staff spoke English and were extremely helpful with directions and train information. Next time we're in Tokyo we'll plan to stay again, and to me that's the best gauge of one's experience.
“Amazing!!!”
The hotel room was small but to be expected in Tokyo. It was very clean and the cleaners came everyday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurants had lovely food but were very expensive!! The train station was 1 minute away and it had a fantastic location. Everything was nearby with even a MacDonalds across the road. I would def recommend this hotel and location to everybody. What an amazing holiday!!
“Very convenient to Shinjuku Eki.”
Room may seem small to Americans, but totally adequate for an extended stay - even had two chairs and closet. Good base for sightseeing, not for living.
“Made my experience in Japan so much more enjoyable, loved it!!!!”
Very inviting, clean ,cosy ,amazing location and extremelly confortable
“Recommended hotel and will stay again next visit.”
Very good location just adjacent to the metro station. Two minutes walk from Nishishinjuku station or 10 minutes to Shinjuku main station. Moderate size and well-cleaned-room. Worth paying and staying.
