“Nice Hotel and Great Location”
This Holiday was located near downtown 1 block east of Yonge St. next to the old Maple Leaf Gardens, and within walking distance to Cabbagetown, Yorkville, China Town, Kenisington Market, and the University of Toronto. The subway was 1/2 block west of the hotel and busses and streetcars were very easily accessable to go to other parts of Toronto. The hotel room itself was a little small, but updated with modern furnature and fixtures, including an updated bathroom. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable with choices of "soft" and "firm" pillows. Parking was by far cheaper than most other hotels in the area. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we return to Toronto.
“Great downtown location, great service”
The hotel staff was very hospitable. The rooms were clean and had air condition, although the hallways were warm. They had great amenities inside, including a coffee maker supplied with coffee and a refrigerator (we bought water from a store and kept it cold). They had pitchers of water with lemons in the lobby. There was free wifi as well as free computer use in their business center - all you needed was your key card. The hotel was in a great downtown location (there is another Holiday Inn location which is a little south and east of this location, which puts it a little out of the way, don't stay there if you want easy access to downtown). There are many places to eat around and about 10 min. to Eaton center. We were able to walk to the Royal Ontario Museum and around Queen's Park, although there is subway lines to there. There was a car rental place just a block down the street. For a cheap transfer from Pearson Int'l Airport for $2-3 Canadian use: - the 192 Airport Rocket -then take the Bloor subway to Bloor-Yonge station, -then transferto the Yonge subway line and get off at College.
“Best Holiday Inn EVER!”
When you walk in to the lobby, you can't believe that you're staying at a Holiday Inn. Looks so beautiful. The rooms themselves have the same standard. Nice white linens and flat screen TVs. We had a view of midtown Toronto and the walk was only 10 minutes to the Eaton Centre (great shopping!). Lots of restaurants around and the concierge and staff downstairs were friendly and very helpful. Only one thing to look out for- Don't eat at the Chinese restaurant across the street-- horrible food! I know that has nothing to do with the hotel, but I'm just warning anyone who thinks of heading over there for a quick dinner. Either way, the Holiday Inn in Downtown Toronto went way above and beyond my expectations. Would definitely stay there again!!
“Clean and New”
Nice and clean in a nice neighborhood.
“I would go back”
The hotel was very nice, friendly pleasant staff.
“Will recommend”
Hotel is well located at downtown Toronto. It has a metro station near by, will recommend it. It's nicely renovated.
“Will stay here again”
The free wifi worked great on all my devices (iPad and Android phone), there was a comfy chaise lounge in the corner of the room that was perfect for curling up on while surfing, the bathroom was modern, clean, and had a great shower, and for anyone hanging out in the Church-Wellsley Village for Pride the location can't be beat.
“Great escape”
Location, comfort and convience makes this a place anyone can enjoy for business or a pleasure trip--a great value to add to all that
“Business Traveler Friendly”
I was at the hotel for four days on business. I was very impressed with what the room had to offer- small fridge, safe, free wireless internet. Very helpful to the business traveler staying in the location for a number of days. I also was impressed with the energy saving initiatives in place at the hotel. Sensor-driven lighting in the hallways (some lights only went on when someone was in the hallway), energy efficient light bulbs in the room, etc.
“Clean room, helpful staff”
The room was clean, but a little cramped. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The location was decent.
